Chapter 11: End (1)

The next morning when I woke up I saw that there were many royal guards gathered around our mansion.

"So they have chosen violence."

I calmly walked towards the main gate. But my footsteps immediately halted because I saw unexpected people in my house.

Blaine Glayder and Priscilla Glayder (King and Queen Of Sapin)

Alduin Eralith and Merial Eralith (King and Queen of Elenoir)

"What are you doing in my house?"

I walked calmly towards them they stood up after they saw me. The King of Sapin had a frown on his face when he saw the behavior of the boy in front of him the KING. The Queen pressed the King's hand to help calm him down.

I did not like any of the people present in this room including the King and Queen of Elenoir. Because I had already heard from my parents that Arthur was in love with the Princess of Elenoir and vice versa. Both of their parents had also agreed but then the King and Queen of Elenoir suddenly thought their Kingdom was more important than the happiness of their daughter so they betrayed Arthur for the safety of their people.

The King Of Sapin had to raise his head to talk to me because I was taller than him.

"We want you to become one of the Lances."

"We?" I asked.

"Yes, because I had heard from my Lance that you were able to immobilize three lances alone, and right now the whole continent needs people like your strength. A War is approaching. A war against gods."

The King said worry was written all over his face. And when he said the word "gods". I was also a little affected. Because I knew How arrogant these Kings were even the Lances were under their control and the King said the enemy were literal gods.

The king continued, "Do you know the history of Dicathen and how the Lances were made?"

"..."

Seeing my confused expression the King explained to me the past of Dicathen and how it was connected with Lances.

Lances are a group of powerful individuals chosen by the monarchs of their race to receive a powerful artifact handed down by the previous kings and queens. These artifacts were previously given to the lesser races by the Asuras, to allow them to grow in power. The individuals who receive them have silver mana cores, but the power of the artifact allows them to break into the white stage.

As it turns out in chapter 396 the artifacts, in addition to bringing the mages to the white core, create imperceptible damage to the walls of the core, invisible unless the mage uses Mana Rotation. This damage, while not affecting the use of magic, prevents the mana from touching the core walls and purifying it to the integration stage. This was done by Kezess Indrath to prevent the Lances from becoming a threat to the Asuras themselves.

The three races possess two lances each, whose duties are to defend the monarchs, but they remain unknown to the common people. They remained in the shadows until the current monarchs of Elves, Dwarves, and Humans decided to come together to form the Council of Dicathen. Together, they announced the Lances to the rest of the continent.

Led by the Council of Dicathen, the lances reside in Dicathen. Aliases or code names are used by the receivers of these artifacts, as they used to operate in the shadows. After the recipients of the artifacts were made public as the Lances, the code names were rarely used, and eventually became obsolete due to the war.

"Gasp."

A series of gasps were heard from both of my sides they were my parents and the Leywin Family. It looked like I was not the only one who was ignorant about these things.

"So I will ask again will you become a Lance?"

The King asked me again.

"I can accept it but there are some conditions that need to be set in place first," I said.

They nodded their heads.

"First, I want complete freedom, I will not be under any pressure from any Monarch.

Second, I will act when I think the other lances are unable to handle the situation.

Third, I will not be teaching my techniques to anyone. If you can accept this then pleasure doing business with you. If not then the gate is that way."

I looked at their expressions, I knew my demands were a little excessive. I had to make it clear at the beginning or they would think I was their pet and order me around.

The King and Queen had finished their discussion.

"Okay, We accept."
