"You okay there?" Christopher asked as he handed Serena a flute of champagne.

Serena smiled gratefully as she accepted. "Yes, I'm fine thank you for asking."

Christopher nodded. "Annalys can be childish at times, so don't mind her. In any case, I haven't asked, but what made you grace us with your presence tonight?" he asked being casual.

"Ah, that." Serena paused. Wasn't it obvious? She was there for him. Did he take everything she did as a joke, or was he gently turning her down? No way. She took a sip of champagne, then she licked the imaginary remnants on her upper lip. "Mmmm… I'm not sure…"

Christopher swallowed. Should he just take her on her obvious offer now? He was tempted again, but patience. "I see. Then, if you don't mind me asking, how have you been these days?"
