Chapter 121: Ask, And You Shall Receive

Whitebeard's complaints almost pissed me off, almost.

"You're the captain, you know?" I replied aloofly.

"It doesn't matter! I want to nap in peace!" Whitebeard complained.

"I don't feel like dealing with him," I complained back.

"Well, you came up with the plan. It's only fair that you narrate the details of it," Whitebeard snapped back.

Whitebeard appeared to be half sleepy, and half cranky from being woken up. I could still smell the alcohal right out of his breath. I could only sigh and relent, it wasn't like I wanted to go to war about it.

"Fine, I'll handle it. Go back to sleep, Old Man;" I replied indifferently.

Whitebeard growled a bit before leaping back to his ship. He didn't miss the oppurtunity to leave a dent on my deck while he was at it.

It was rare, but Whitebeard did have a petty side to him. He just went out of his way to never show it.

The rest of the people involved could only be stunned at the scenario that had just unfolded. Well, I couldn't really blame them, it was rare that Whitebeard gave in to the pleasantries of alcohol. Even rarer to see him in that state, it probably scared the life out of them. Not that it really mattered anyway.

"So," I picked out a cigarette before lighting it with a spark of my lightning, "What do you want to know?"

Ken immediately came out with another seat, and some other crew members came out with a table as well. It wasn't too small within the deck that we couldn't set out something like this. So, we ended up with a pretty good little dining set-up.

"How did you manage to get to Mariejois?"

"We scaled the Red-Line, I carried Whitebeard all the way to the top. Then we walked the rest of the way,"

"What did you find there?"

"Nothing that I cared much for, I was there for a good fight; and I got one,"

"Did you fight the Five Elders?"

"Yep,"

"What are their abilities?"

I was slowly beginning to get irritated by all these damned questions. It felt like I was being interrogated for a crime. So I decided to change things up a bit.

"Why would you want to know?" I asked casually, taking a draw out of my cigarrette.

Dragon sighed before responding, his eyes were ablazed with anticipation.

"We plan to invade Mariejois to free more slaves," Dragon declared, "and since you guys have already done so, I thought about performing another raid so I could free some more people and get them to join the army."

"What of the free people out already?"

"Though some of them willingly accept the offer, most decide to start a family and retire someplace quiet, devoid of any unwanted attention," Dragon explained, "They are simply thankful for the oppurtunity to be free once more, and they don't want to lose that freedom again."

"Fair enough, but what makes you think that the slaves over there will be different?" I followed up.

"I don't know, but I can only risk the attempt; and make the most of what I find;" Dragon responded, "Besides, I have a connection that wants to perform the same operation with us, so we are currently working together."

I didn't bother trying to figure out the identity of his 'connection', but his plans did seem to be out of the plot. Normally, Fisher Tiger was supposed to infiltrate Mariejois to free the slaves. I don't think that the Revolutionary army had any doings towards that event, but it wasn't like it was my problem to begin with.

Dragon then finished his tea before getting up, I couldn't help but throw in one last piece of vital information that would help them with their future endeavours.

"The Five Elders won't intervene unless you try to enter Pangea Castle, so I'd suggest you stay away from there. You're clearly not strong enough, to face them," I advised, finally stubbing my cigarette away before I flicked it somewhere.

However, in the corner of my eye, I saw Ken leap and catch it before putting the stub in the garbage.

"What makes you say that?" Dragon inquired curiously.

"There's no need for you to know, not yet, at least; you heard my warning, stay away from that castle. There time will come soon," I warned.

Ginny and Bartholomew were about to follow him as he left the ship, but it was then that I had remembered something that would be in Ginny's benefit. After all, we did manage to save her, Kuma and the queer. It would have been a shame to see her die so early, so I promptly called out to her and Kuma.

Dragon stopped and turned to see what else I had to say to the two of them.

"If you're looking for a cure to that.....disease. Seek out the inventor Vegapunk, he's in World Government custody because he works for them, but that's not going to stop him from helping. Tell him its a favor from Boris, he'll know," I adviced before lying back down.

Stussy promptly walked over and was going to escort them out of the ship when Ginny ran over to give me a big hug.

"Thank you," She said sincerely.

I said nothing and closed my eyes, I had already helped them in anyway I could have. The rest would be solely up to them, the plot had already gone through some various changes. So adding a tiny change to it shouldn't prove to be too much of a problem.

While I napped, I sensed the three of them leave the ship, and Stussy started making her way towards me. She lied down next to my napping figure before poking on of my cheeks.

"I know you're awake," She said slyly.

"Can a man enjoy a mid-afternoon nap in peace?" I asked back grumpily.

"Why did you decide to send them Vegapunk's way?" She asked instead.

"No reason, we've already saved her once. There is no problem saving her again,"

"What if Vegapunk can't do it?"

"He managed to create you, and you turned out just fine. I'm sure he'll take care of them just fine," I replied assuringly. I grabbed her hand before giving it a quiet peck.

She laughed a bit before she started talking.

"You know, if it wasn't for your indifference. I'm sure that you'd make a great father,"

"You want to have kids?"

"Will you let me have them?"

"Can you have them?"

"I don't know," She responded, "but we can try."

"Maybe later," I replied casually," I have a feeling that the world is going to be in turmoil in a few years, no place to be having kids; especially us."

She humphed in displeasure before snuggling close to me. Her warm breathes started to slow down the more time passed, indicating that she was sleeping comfortably.

Ken and the crew immediately took out all the furniture that they had brought out and took it back into the cabin. It was then that Ken emerged from the cabin and directly stood in front of us. It seemed that he had something in mind that he wanted to say.

"Commander, we need a new ship,"

I sighed tiredly before stroking Stussy's hair, I knew that this day would come. So I could only stare back at him before saying.

"Ask, and you shall receive."
