Chapter 116: Meeting The Dark King

Ken and I continued walking deeper within the forest when we felt the entire island began to shake.

The sudden burst of Conqurer's haki indicated that Whitebeard had finally clashed with Roger. In the distance, moreover, I saw a damaged boulder in which Oden had slowly emerged from. He immediately wasted no time shrugging off the rubble and making his way back towards the source of the disturbance.

Judging by Ken's expression, I could tell that he had also wanted to run off and see what was happening. However, it seemed that he wasn't doing so because he wanted to stick by me; I had saw Ken and Stussy talking for a bit while we were on the ship before we docked. I couldn't tell whether that was the reason.

Anyway, the rumblings didn't stop even when we reached where Roger and Whitebeard were. Whitebeard was still trying to force Roger's blade downwards, while Roger was trying to puch off Whitebeard with his own strength. The most important thing was the fact that they were both smiling.

Seeing that this was going nowhere, Whitebeard immediately leaped back to where we had been standing through the duration of the clash. They both stood at a stand still as they waited for both pirate forces to fully emerge from the ship.

Slowly by slowly, the Roger Pirate's top crew members slowly began to emerge. Also, the Whitebeard Pirate Division commanders also started to emerge from the forest as well.

Eventually, it became a standoff between the two pirate groups. I had even found myself standing right next to Whitebeard as he glared at Roger playfully. It was then, after everyone had gathered, arms in hand. That they both decided to talk to each other again, but instead of a pleasant conversation. They both demanded the same thing.

"Hand over your valuables!!"

They were both momentarily stunned at the similar declaration, but it didn't stop them from launching some more orders afterwards.

"Whitebeard Pirates, rob them blind!" Whitebeard boomed.

"Roger Pirates, strip them naked!!!" Roger roared.

It was then, that the legendary three day war began. Multiple pirates from Roger's crew immediately made their way towards me. However, Ken was having none of it, he immediately attacked the pirates who lunged at me. Using his Rokushiki techniques, he managed to incapacitate them without even giving them an oppurtunity to have a fair fight.

However, that seemed to encourage more pirates to attack me. I immediately used my Conqurer's haki to knock them all unconcious, there was no need to fight weaklings like them. However, it wouldn't be long till an equally oppresive Conqurer's haki bashed against mine. Black lightning with red coating collided with black lightning with silver coating as I looked at the source of the oppressive Conqurer's haki.

"How about giving me a moment of your time, young man!" The Dark King Rayleigh commented.

"Sure," I commented back, I could feel a small smile tugging on my lips.

We immediately lunged at each other before our weapons clashed in mid-air. Both our weapons had been coated in Advanced Armament haki, and that was only just the beginning. We continued clashing over and over again. I had made an effort to lower my power, just enough for me to enjoy the fight I was having with Rayleigh.

Moreover, while we fought, I was slowly beginning to understand and appreciate Rayleigh's power.

The stark comparison between Rayleigh's haki and mine was refinement. My haki had always went along with my will, and ever since I had assimilated my aspect to awaken. I had come to accept that my haki was always going to be rampant no matter how much I trained it. If I was to circulate my spiritual energy throughout my body, it would be similar to a roaring river cruising down a waterfall.

However, Rayleigh's power was different. If mine was a raging river, his was a quiet stream that smoothly traveled along his body. It wasn't that I could see how his Spiritual energy moved, but I was able to sense it via the output he released while we fought. His haki moved in an efficient manner. As a result, his output was fully utilized and maximized to its fullest potential while he fought. I had no doubt that he was one of the few people who could reach that far in Haki mastery.

Anyway, we continued to fight digilently as more and more parts of the forest started fading as a result. We both saw this and came to a mutual aggreement not to use any more haki as we fought. We still kept our Advanced Armament and Observation, but other than that, we didn't need to use anything else. I had to admit, it was way more fun this way, Rayleigh's cuts didn't do much to my body, but they were slowly beginning to stack up to something concerning.

Whereas, I would often leave Rayleigh momentarily stunned whenever I made an attack on him. The force of my swings using Labrys was simply too much for an ordinary person to handle alone. However, this person was far from ordinary, he still managed to quickly recover before delivering another counter-attack my way.

We had kept it like that until I saw a certain blue phoenix racing towards us with his talons out.

"Oi! Nobody gets to fight our Older brother that easily, you know?!" He finished that comment whil aiming to pierce at Rayleigh. However, Rayleigh merely stretched out his index finger and coaugh Marco's talons.

"It will take more than that to fight a Vice Captain, young man!" Rayleigh responded in kind before throwing Marco away.

He immediately collided with other Whitebeard Crewmembers, leaving all of them momentarily disoriented for a while. I patiently waited while Rayleigh handled Marco and the others. There seemed to be a inspoken rule that killing each other was off the books.

Also, I took this brief oppurtunity to look around to see any significant happenings within the battle. Oden was currently going at it with 'Scoppers' Gabban, whereas Teach had given the red headed kid Shanks a nasty gash on his left eye with his claws, and Whitebeard and Roger were still going at it.

"It seems that you are underestimating me, since you're taking your time looking about!"

Rayleigh boomed as he swung his sword near my neck. I immediately leaned backwards to distance myself from the blade. It was already too late to raise my guard, and my dumbass forgot to keep my Observation haki on when I did so. I ended up falling to the ground, however, I wasted no time rolling backwards and raising myself back to my feet.

I was going to make it my mission to make this the only time I would let myself be distracted like that in front of opponents of his callibre, not that I have done that before.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Marco and the rest of the three pirates get up. They immediately spotted someone else and they wasted no time fighting. However, my I couldn't help but be fascinated by the amount of haki that their opponent had. Also, he had blonde hair to boot, I planned to keep that individual in mind for later.

Anyway, we continued to fight each other for the next three days.
