Chapter 60: Oden Got Kids
The crew were all gathered on the island.
A countless number of barrels were littered across the land along with some passed out pirates. It looked like they had already started the party without us. Some division commanders were also among those who were passed out.
I could sense that Whitebeard was still within the Moby Dick, probably drinking on his huge couch. It didn't matter though as many more pirates were also sprawled across the ship drunk as well. I couldn't seem to find Oden or Toki anywhere on the island, meaning that they were probably within the ship.
I was hesitant to use my Observation haki to look for them because I didn't want to see something crazy by accident. I slowly made my way to the Moby Dick. I greeted the division commanders along the way as I walked. Stussy was following me closely as she also greeted some other division commanders while she did.
The plank leading to the deck of the Moby Dick was also riddled with drunkards who were currently passed out on it. We had to carefully step over them as we made our way into the deck of the Moby Dick. On the deck, Marco was playing with an infant with a bald scalp with hair surrounding it.
Stussy giggled as she watched the two continue to play. Suddenly, Marco noticed us and promptly put the child down before greeting us. The drooling infant started to waddle his small feet towards Stussy, who was instantly captivated and wasted no time picking the child up. The child giggled happily as Stussy rubbed her cheeks against his. It would have been a heart warming scene, if it weren't for that lecherous smirk that the child had on his face as they cuddled against each other.
I stared at the pair expressionlessly for a while before turning my gaze to the large man who was seated on a large deck on the center of the deck. The man had a barrel on his lap and had his eyes closed as he snored. A large bubble appeared on his nose that grew and shrunk as he breathed, it seemed that the alcohaal had also gotten to Whitebeard as well.
I wasn't planning on waking him up, so I decided to grab something to drink as I waited for Whitebeard to wake up. Stussy was still giving her love on the young infant who willingly accepted it all with the same lecherous smirk that he had earlier. I had a feeling I knew who that kid was, but I said nothing as I grabbed a barrel from a table that was nearby and pouring myself a drink from a bottle that one of the crewmates happened to bring out.
As I was drinking, the doors leading to the hull of the ship slowly opened, and Oden and a very much pregnant Toki slowly stepped out of the ship. He smiled as he watched Stussy continued adoring the infant. Toki, on the other hand, smiled at me gently before greeting me.
"It's been a while, Boris! How have you been?" Toki said cheerfully.
"Boris?! That Pipsqueck?!?! Where?!?!" Oden, upon hearing my name, exclaimed.
He quickly looked at Toki before following his gaze to where I was currently sitting and drinking. He wasted no time drawing both his swords and lunging at me.
"I heard you're pretty strong, Boris! Fight me!!!" Oden shouted as he coated both his swords in haki.
Stussy quickly protected the infant from what was to come. Whereas Marco appeared right in front of Toki, covering himself with his flames in preparation for whatever might come their way. I could only sigh and draw my axe as I prepared myself to meet Oden for another round of battle.
Right as we were about to collide, I covered my axe with haki and swung it with all my might towards Oden's swords. The impact instantly made a shockwave that spread all across the ship. The clash ended up with me overpowering his strength and sending him out of the ship and into an open field, not too far from where Whitebeard's camp was.
Figuring that this would have been a perfect oppurtunity to test my strength, I instantly leaped right after him. Although I had already beat him once, Oden was an opponent that showed immense power should the situation force him to. We both ended up landing right on the open field, both of us landing right on our feet as we did.
Oden smirked as he formed his stance with both of his swords. I remained expressionless as I twirled my axe and readied my stance as well.
"Oi! Oden and Boris are about to go at it!!"
"Who you got your money on? I got Oden!"
"HUH?! Oden?! Have you not heard what Boris did to the Marines?"
"Boris? Who's that??"
"You moron! How could you not know our older brother?!"
"How come I've never seen him on the ship?"
"That's because he's been out patrolling!"
These kinds of conversations could be heard as a crowd could be seen forming in the distance. I could sense that some of the drunkards were slowly waking up because of all the ruckus that was happening. However, I didn't have time to worry about that as Oden suddenly lunged at me with his swords raised.
I wasted no time raising labrys to block the attack from Oden. The shockwave made from our impact was so huge that it had sent so many people among the crowd who were watching flying away. We were both locked in this clash for a bit before I went for a kick in his stomach.
Oden immediately reacted and made a backflip before my foot could make contact with his stomach and landed a bit farther away from me. However, I didn't let up. I lunged at him the moment he landed on the ground and swung my axe horizontally at him.
Oden immediately raised his swords to block the attack. However, this time he made sure to stomp his feet deep into the ground in order not to be sent flying like I did when we had clashed first. The Force of the blow didn't manage to send him flying, but it did manage to force the winds to blow away nearby trees and debrees.
We promptly began to engage in a delicate sequence of combat right after that. Each strike was promptly aiming for the kill as if we were engaged in a real life-and-death battle. We were locked in a delicate dance, each move was complimenting another as we continued our fight.
I was slowly getting to know my strengths as I continued to fight. It was difficult because there would be strikes that I would deal on Oden that were too strong. Whereas there were others that were simply too weak and he wasted no time countering it with another strike on me.
I could deflect the blow quite easily, but the force of teh attacks had me losing my balance a little bit as we fought. Our current clash was a rather ferocious one, I had to push my limit a little bit as we clashed. Oden started to summon his ryuo as he prepared his stance. I wasted no time summoning my advanced armament haki and taking my stance as well.
The air quickly became tense as we both knew that this clash would leave rather grave injuries on one another. We were about to clash when Jozu and Marco suddenly interrupted our would-be final clash.
"Oi! What the hell are your problems! We have your kid and pregnant wife on the ship ya know?!" Marco scolded us as he stood in front of Oden.
"Boris, although you are my big brother. I must implore you to stop! Oden's family won't be able to handle the magnitude of the fight!" Jozu remarked solemnly.
I instantly dropped my stance and withdrew my Armament haki from my weapon. I was getting way too excited for the fight. I faintly noticed that a little bit of my killing intent had slowly leaked out from me while we fought.
I initially thought nothing of it while we fought. However, looking at it now, I had found it rather troublesome. The only times I had truly released my killing intent was when I had a genuine desire to kill the people I was targeting. I never really wanted to kill Oden, so why was my killing intent leaking?
