Chapter 62: A plan for the cannon making

Furthermore, Virtya wanted Guarin to study the black powder that would be used to propell the projectiles. As one should know, the black powder was still being used in this world but its purity was not up to par, thus, Virtya wanted Guarin to fix the problem of purity but as for him, he was heading to Pollow district.

Virtya asked a knight who had been standing behind them to give Guarin the papers that had the designs of the cannons.

"I think you should know why you are here, right? Virtya asked Guarin.

"I understand your highness. Master Grisha has already told me the details." Guarin answered. His hands were trembling as he held the papyrus papers. After all, this was Guarin's first time to touch a paper and he was astonished. In their classrooms, they worked with pieces of charcoal to write on the pieces of timber but here, he was seeing the real paper. How could you expect Guarin not to be agitated?

Guarin was even much more irritated when he took a peek at the designs of the cannon. It was something that he had never seen or knew what its purpose was, to him, this was a totally new knowledge but Guarin was not defeated as his curiosity grew as he wanted to know what this new knowledge was like, it was knowledge that will involve real life practicals, and the thing that he would be needed to fabricate was something that was of importance to the king because of how serious he was staring at him when he gave him those papers.

Guarin moved down and saw the chemical formulas and the equations for the gun powder and he could not help but be agitated.

'So... This was how those chemical equations were applied in real life?' Guarin asked himself internally. A few geniuses and Guarin had managed to level up quickly from grade one to grade seven and right now, they were learning the high school knowledge but they didn't have a teacher as Grisha was also a learner himself, therefore, these students could only teach themselves. Guarin had seen and solved these chemical equations many times and he didn't knew where they were applied to in real life but on this day, he had come to know.

"I am going to share this with my fellows and see how we will come up with it. I am sure that in a week's time. I will give you a satisfactory answer." Guarin answered respectfully. He then folded the scroll and kept it well. The few geniuses and Guarin were given much protection because Virtya didn't want to lose these big brains. After all, it was not easy to find geniuses and it was even much more expensive to look for them. A thorough investigation had already been done on people like Guarin and Virtya trusted them because there was no one among them who came from another kingdom or if they were a spy sent to sabotage his projects, all these few geniuses that he had were all natives of the kingdom of Azuhai.

"You go discuss with your fellows and see how you will go about it. The blacksmiths will be here ready to help you guys to make those cannons but as for the black powder, you only have yourselves to depend on, I will not interfere in your research and also don't expect any additional information from me. I have already given you all that is needed. I only expect to see results." Virtya finished with Guarin and asked for a knight to lead him out.

"It is about time." Tanya said. It was almost early in the morning and Virtya even if he had yet to slept, he was adamant about going to Pollow so that he could initiate the construction of the cement plant.

Therefore, the group walked out of the office.

As the torches burned in the hallway, they illuminated the four people who were walking through the hallway. Of course, these people were Virtya, Tanya, Alexandre and Nataschenka.

Nataschenka was wearing the blacksmith's protective attire while the two men and Tanya were wearing black suits... Yes, Tanya was also wearing a suit even if she had not put a tie around her neck like Virtya and Alexandre.
