Chasing Knowledge chapter 07
Two years later
Every thing is now peaceful over Baterilla and still people called me five year but honestly guys I'm nine years old. Leon is reminiscing about about the past ten years.
The year is 1499
During Leon's time of bounty hunting, he starts to visit other blue seas.
Especially he wanted the knowledge something, that curiosity that still with him till this day
Leon if he ever travelled to other blues with his mother would accompany him voyages sometimes.
When he asked for the reason Rouge replied She could not leave baby boy alone on these voilent seas.
Hearing this made Leon think that really omega!!
So he started to visit different islands in other blues.
There was one time Leon visited North blue
That is worst blue and Leon absolutely loathe that blue because of the existence of mafia. Due to the mafia's link with marines and local king's support they can get away with any crime as long they give authorities the money from their loot.
Months travelling sea Leon started to avoid going to north blue for any bounty hunting altogether due to the complications of mafia and with Rouge travelling with him, he doesn't want to risk his mother's safety.
When Leon visits the islands he Started to collect many books that made him interested in reading certain books, in this way he came across a certain book "Noland the lair". But seeing in the anime only hearing about it and reading it in person is completely different story.
In Leon's previous life, he wanted to become a archeologist and travel to different countries and find the long lost history of unknown civilization he have always thought of that before his untimely death,
(inner monologue) May be was sent to this world for a purpose. I don't know
Now Leon is in west blue travelling to Ohara on a merchant ship his mother some times got sick during the sea travel and this is one of the times.
So Leon is travelling to Ohara right now, for months he is on a merchant ship, from what he heard from the navigator it will take two days to reach Ohara. it is not the time of great era of pirates so there aren't much pirate activities in the blues and this era belongs to Leon's father.
Well if he ever wanted to say that aloud in front of any marine they will definitely try to capture him.
putting the thoughts aside he started to thinking about what to do after having a decent knowledge on ancient languages.
There will be his father Roger who will disband his crew and arrive at Baterilla next year.
After that everything will be hectic for him and his mother.
Thinking of the future is just giving him a headache.
Leon shakes his head to get rid of the thoughts of future for a moment and to focus on the present on what to do on Ohara.
After two days.
Now Leon is standing on the docks of Ohara.
Leon's view of this place is just as amazing in the anime, he couldn't help but be amazed at how this place looked and the giant tree that is tall as the tallest mountain.
He started to walk straight towards the library of the island which is according to Leon's memory it is the giant tree in the middle of the island.
When Leon reached the library he was stopped by a scholar.
One of the scholar came forward and spoke.
Look child this place is not a playing area go away.
Leon spoke calmly no sir I am here to learn about ancient languages.
( Inner monologue: Scholars are mainly focused on certain things and those are history, languages, ancient civilization and sharing the knowledge or to keep the knowledge to themselves. But this scholar seems to be like to be the first type.) inner monologue
When Leon said this the scholars looked some what bewildered due to the fact that a child no older than ten is asking to learning languages.
So the scholar decided to take Leon to library director.
When Leon came to face to face with the person from anime, he remembered the person, it is Professor Clover who is looking down at him with a stern look.
( Leon's inner monologue: looking at the person in this life rather than anime feels different and his hair and beard are really looking funny though )
Prof clover got on one knee to see me on the eye level, kid do you want to learn ?
Even in my previous life or in this life, my hunger for knowledge is still burning bright in my heart.
I didn't delay and replied yes immediately.
When the prof Clover heard that he was a bit surprised to say the least he also met a child who also has hunger for knowledge same as the kid before him.
So with a smile on his place Prof clover said then you are welcome to Ohara's Library child and if you have any doubts please ask about it to any of the scholar or to me with a smile he walked of to do his job.
When Leon entered the hall of the library he was shocked to say the least in a simple words he could only say huge that's the correct word that could only describe the scene in front of him.
Countless number of books that was arranged in order and easy to identify every books with a look.
Then Leon turned his head to see around the library but in a corner of the library on a table he saw a little girl with black hair and Leon immediately recognized her as Robin if his guess has to be correct she is not a full fledged scholar yet but in two years she will be and but now she is just a seven year old child.
Leon has no interest in any of the canon characters and he just want to live his as the way as it is, if push comes to shove Leon will fight.
Leon started of with basics in every languages he mostly planned on focusing solely on ancient text but curiosity got the better of him and started to go over every book he finds interesting.
Just like that ten days has passed and Leon was planning to return to Baterilla for a while so Leon said my bye to Prof clover and boarded a merchant ship.
On Leon's way to Baterilla. Leon encountered a pirate ship and their captain was Logia fruit user which seems like sand with the mixture of water looks like quick sand.
It just took me half and hour to deal with the pirates due to the numbers and fighting with logia fruit user with haki became a bonus for Leon. When Leon was tired after fighting a large number of pirates and fighting the leader at last pushed him to his limits and developed his armament haki to hardening with black coating.
Well Leon is thinking of bounty hunting job in grand line paradise.
Which could him help him financially on the long run.
