Chapter 227: 27. Someone Else.

Week 1: Trials and tribulations of the Salvatore pack. Mariella and Mimosa.

Mariella let out a loud groan as that annoying demon teleported away just as Mimosa was about to catch him. She had given this demon the nickname "diggerdoodle" because his real name was too long and didn't make sense. When he said his name, it sounded like "digge'rh, doe' qhoul," so Mariella's mind twisted it into diggerdoodle. He was as ugly as they usually were, and a mischievous demon like him could cause a lot of harm to the world. Once again, it was time for her to team up with Mimosa and face those damn fight clubs and other challenges.

Mariella was furious because she had worked hard to get in top shape, and it had been nice to live with others despite the occasional problems. It had been perfect in all its imperfections, and now this shit had happened. However, she couldn't blame Mimo, as it was clear that they were all under attack and each of them had enemies.

They were in India, just having saved three schools from floods or mudslides, when that little shithead appeared and messed with them. Not their luck as Mimosa's jaws snapped around empty air at the last second. Mariella picked up a piece of paper that read, "Moscow, 72 hours. I hope you don't fear fire."

She muttered to herself, "We're going to Russia. This has something to do with fire. Fuck, I'm so pissed off."

Mariella realized just how furious she was, and it wasn't until Mimosa spoke up that she noticed.

Mimosa said, "Please, channel whatever Mimi is sending to you into a separate tank and then see what she's trying to communicate. She's trying to be the alpha female and support us, but my question is, does it help if we blow a fuse?"

Mariella focused and soon felt glittery pink energy flowing through their pack bonds. She cleverly created an empty tank in her mind and directed the glittery energy into it.

As they teleported to Russia, they went to live in Pack's house. This was a house that Mimi had bought, as Bridgette had come along with her. They had spent quite a little time here, and this was a beautiful, enormous house. But this was still very much Mimi's. There was this atmosphere, that said that this was Mimi's home, one of them.

Mariella sat down on the sofa and asked, "What was she really like? I know she presented herself falsely to us, so the Salvatores put her to sleep. Can she wake up again? I mean, Bridgette was with Mimi for years, and she was very important to her. I could tell, especially that year when I had no idea she stayed with Mimi for a month after that."

Mimosa replied, "She was our first female companion in bed. I mean, she was good, but Damon had issues with the fact that we were friends with benefits. She was fun, but I suppose Mimi could sense that she was what she presented herself as, I mean as a white witch. However, she never pushed it. She was strong and kept her true self hidden, but you could still tell. You should really ask Mimi. She might have her own perspective to share."

Mariella responded, "Yeah, you lived inside Mimi for decades, and you were also with her. You should be able to tell as well, but it seems like you believe it's not your place to share. Why is that?"

Mimosa, in her wolf form during these times of chasing demons, explained, "I was a part of her. I remember the moment I was born into her mind. I had somehow existed in there before, I'm not exactly sure how to explain it, but I was born. I could talk to Mimi, and she was so confused and thought she was going crazy or being played with. Even though we were in the same body, I was fully separate, often sleeping or lounging and not actively involved. So it was all Mimi, her experiences, and she should be the one to decide if she wants to share."

Mariella, looking at a huge tricolored long-haired wolf with wise eyes, understood.

She said to the wolf, "I get it. You're still protecting her, even though you're no longer inside her. But you could go back in, right?"

Mimosa nodded and said, "Did you know that I'm named after one of her cats? I'm not sure if that's also the reason for my appearance. She looked like this."

She showed Mariella glimpses of the cat through Mimi's memories, bringing a smile to Mariella's face. They had just recharged their energy over these past few days and were preparing for the crisis that awaited them. Mariella had no idea what the others, except for Shadow, Elena, and Katherine, who were also hunting demons, would be doing.

Team A Salvatores, (1,2,4,5,7),Alaric. Murdock, Dexter.

Team B Salvatores ( 3,6,8,9,10) Taylor, Tim, Colin.

Damon, the number one, grunted as he swiftly struck his sword at the massive monster charging towards him like a train. The heavy sword in his hands required both of his hands to wield it, but he had experience with such weapons. He parried and struck, clashing his blade against the monster's sword, creating sparks.

The monster yelled out in pain as number two saw an opening and thrust his sword into its side. The monster clumsily tried to retaliate, but it was Dexter who managed to throw yet another heavy lead ball at the monster's head, bringing it down. Salvatores swiftly and mercilessly slayed the monster, but they had little time to catch their breath as Alaric was engaged in a battle with another monster - one with tentacles and hands.

The monster's tentacles struck Alaric, causing him to fall over. As the monster raised its sword, Damon leaped into action, bringing his blade down and hitting one of the tentacles. However, the tentacle was made of a rubbery material, causing Damon's blade to only partially sink in. Despite this, the monster vocalized in pain and turned its attention towards Damon. Meanwhile, Alaric rolled out of harm's way and quickly got back on his feet. Number two also regained consciousness, and both of them began striking the monster from both sides. Finally, one of the tentacles dropped off, causing the monster to bleed and grow even more enraged. They had no time to think about anything else other than trying to kill this monster.

In the rest of the arena, the other Salvatores were dealing with two more monsters, while the amphitheater and benches were filled with spectators. Damon was beyond angry, but he kept his focus, relentlessly striking the same tentacle as hard as he could. Finally, it was severed too. Number two managed to strike the monster on its side, and despite its fast healing, it was losing strength. However, the Salvatores knew that it wasn't time to get cocky yet. Only when all the monsters were dead, could they take a breath and assess what was needed.

Alaric managed to get behind the monstrous creature and thrust his sword right through it. The blade emerged a few inches from its chest, but the creature continued thrashing and struck number two with its tentacle. Number two flew in an arc, hitting the ground with a thud, and did not get up.

Alaric cursed, "How the hell do you kill these damn things?"

Damon grunted and struck the monster's leg with his sword, causing it to topple over. Alaric struggled to free his sword, while number two remained motionless on the ground. Murdock attempted to drag him a little further, but another furry monster attacked him, forcing him to defend himself.

He muttered, "Damn, I'm no swordsman. Give me a gun, and then we can talk. This is not my thing."

Number one grunted and delivered a powerful blow, severing the monster's neck and causing it to transform into a gooey substance. The furry monster tried to bite Murdock with its long snout. It resembled an alligator with dark fur and legs, but it was not scaly. Its long snout was filled with razor-sharp, serrated teeth, and Murdock did not want to be bitten.

Number one swiftly, strode to help Murdock, while Dexter was trying to hit it with those lead balls. Damon struck the furry monster's snout, causing it to bite into his blade, which broke in half.

Damon exclaimed, "Fuck! Oh, shit! And stinking balls of pig!"

He threw the broken sword aside and drew a long, nasty-looking dagger from his belt. He searched for an opening to attack, as there were only two monsters left. More of their companions began attacking each of the remaining monsters, possibly putting themselves in danger. Number two was still groaning and moving on the ground, but Damon had no time to worry about him.

He noticed an opening behind the furry beast and swiftly sliced through the back of its knees, bringing it to its knees. Numbers five and four joined in the attack on this monster, while Murdock, seven, and Dexter dealt with the last one. Number four went to check on number two, finding a goose egg forming on his forehead, but his healing ability would take care of it.

These monsters would soon be dealt with, and then they could return to their quarters, where a bothersome group of women would likely try to flirt with them. Damon groaned inwardly at the thought.

He was aware, through the hive bond, that the rest of the Salvatores were in the same situation. They were fighting in the goddamn arena against creatures they didn't even know existed and being harassed by women. And Damon knew who was behind all of this.

It was Stefan, his damn brother, who was alive and had personally come to visit him. Stefan told him that he also had telepathy and was strong. Despite Damon being ten, it only took one of Stefan to defeat them all and their precious pack. Stefan didn't look like the Stefan from the series, not at all. He looked like a cross between a young Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Dean Martin, and Giovanni Ribisi. He had a very Italian look, not as handsome as Damon, and his arrogance didn't make him any more attractive. Stefan appeared to be 25, which irked Stefan because he had always been referred to as a boy.

Stefan also mentioned Team B, which consisted of the rest of his hive, including Tim, Taylor, and Colin. Stefan clarified that they would surely take the other women and leave Damon's pack. However, Stefan didn't mention anything about what the women had been through, and Damon didn't have time to think about it. One thing he did know was that Mimi was not in a good place as she sent her rage-infused lust to him. He stored it away, hoping that his pack could use it if needed.

Adam, Charles, Demon, Leopard, and Magnum were working together to put pressure on the group of female demons. The leopard and black jaguar coordinated their efforts, while Magnum, Adam, and Charles showed no mercy, killing without asking questions.

They had been sent to this realm filled with female demons. It wasn't the realm itself that was the problem, but rather the fact that half of the demons wanted to engage with the men intimately, while the other half wanted to kill them. It was hard to tell who wanted what, and those killers might try to get close enough to sink their daggers filled with demon poison into their flesh. With a few well-placed hits, the demons were taken care of mercilessly.

Magnum was fast and eager to taste and drink as many demons as possible. However, being a fledgling vampire, he found himself somewhat overwhelmed by the situation. As long as he managed to kill the demons, it didn't matter how he did it.

Adam spoke out loud, "At least we don't have an audience here."

Charles grunted in agreement, effortlessly swinging his sword through the air and turning three female demons into goo. Adam, wielding two shorter swords, fought just as fiercely. They had to keep moving, clearing one area of demons before moving on. They had no idea how long this would take or how time worked in this realm compared to the normal world.

Both Adam and Charles had enemies who were behind this, as well as a group of alphas who held a grudge against Bran. Adam swore to himself that he would make sure Bran took responsibility and ensure that no one would come after them solely because of their grudge against Bran.

For now, they had no choice but to keep going and eliminate all the demons. Adam thought of the boys as their sheepdogs, even though they were cats. He, Charles, and Magnum were the ones doing the killing, but the boys would be able to kill the demons too once they were all rounded up. There was no mercy in their minds, only thoughts of killing. Each of them had embraced their killer side and connected with it, working together seamlessly. Only time would tell what the future held and in what condition they would find themselves.

Wulfe, Dresden and Constantine.

"Bloody hell!" exclaimed Constantine as one of his spells flickered out of existence again. "I hate having to use my fists."

Wulfe nodded in agreement, knowing that his magic was much stronger and his spells held better. But by God, this was taxing. They had been forced into a fight club, where using magic against dark fae was no easy task. They were frozen in place and had to rely on their magic to defend themselves. It was like the wizard tests, except their opponents weren't just testing them, they were trying to kill them.

To say the least, it was an interesting situation. Wulfe felt for Mimi and what she had gone through. He knew she had to do whatever it took to survive, but he was unable to help her in any way. Damn that Horatio, the guy he once considered a brother. It was now obvious that Horatio would be finished properly next time, rather than letting him be a rat. Once they were free from this place, Wulfe knew exactly what he would want to do.

He didn't even have to think about it. He conjured a shield for Constantine, focusing all his energy on protecting him. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he grunted in exertion. The fight went on, keeping him occupied and strained.

Damn, that perfect time with his unicorn. They had only enjoyed a few days together before this happened. Well, when things got better, and this was all over, maybe they should stick together. But he wasn't sure if it was a good idea to be separated after an ordeal like this.

Most of the pack were lust-driven creatures, and if it came down to it, they would need some time apart in the Azores to satisfy their desires. As for him and his unicorn, Mimi, they would go on a road trip, singing and enjoying each other's company. He wasn't sure if he would take anyone else with them. But he wondered what form Mimi would take. He could feel her killer instinct waking up, her enjoyment of the chaos.

He thought sourly to himself, "At least she's having some fun. Enjoy it while you can, my love. Time will get rougher for you too, and I am powerless to help you."

Ironically, she was sending her energies to him as well, and Wulfe was grateful. He could actually use them, even though he felt helpless.

They were something he used to enhance his spells. He wasn't sure if Dresden or Constantine could harness that energy, but he might ask them about it when there was time. He might share, but he needed the boost for himself. He had come here based on what Mimi had taught him - to use everything he had. And he was doing just that, using what she had given him. He wasn't eager to share, as his magic could be more beneficial. He could help those two, but what was the point of giving them energy if they couldn't use it efficiently? Right now, he needed to focus, fight, and win. Only then would this work. Casting a spell, he transferred anything and everything useful from his enemy to himself.

As the Salvatore pack fought in their respective places, put there by their enemies, they had to use everything they could. There was no other choice but to keep going. No one had time to consider what others were doing or how they were faring. It was difficult to focus on the enemy in front of them or find a solution for whatever was thrown at them. This was a time for them to fight with all their might. And after it was all over, perhaps a more peaceful pack life would be possible.

After the fights, there was always temptation. Usually, there were beautiful and helpful females, and even skilled telepaths couldn't find any ulterior motives in their minds. They simply had a need to help and heal others as best they could. Some found it hard to resist, while others were consumed by their rage to the point where no tricks from the females could sway them. But that didn't stop the females from trying and continuing to be kind and helpful.
