Chapter 168: 168. Research

Setting off from New Bark Town again like the beginning of their journey, but in Ash and his team was getting bigger and bigger.

In the beginning, it was just Ash, Brock and Misty, and then they were joined by the very young Molly during the whole Entei incident. And just recently, Ash had caught a Latias in the Water City of Alto Mare, and she has always been keen on following him in her human form aka in the form of Bianca.

Ash did not do any training for Latias just yet. The most important thing for now is that she and Molly had each other and they become very good friends. With her Psychic-type, she can also help Molly on her way, so Meganium doesn't have to carry her all the time on their Journey.

Latias can also use Safeguard, which helps everyone resist Jigglypuff's Sing even easier than before.

Now that his Meganium has been sent back to the Lab to train with Venusaur, they will both become a powerful force for Ash in the upcoming Silver Conference.

"Larvitar, Phanpy, let's go together! One, two, one, one, two, one!" Molly was so happy now, with one little cuties on her left side and while another is one her right side.

Phanpy has mostly been placed outside the Poké Ball by Ash since he was born, traveling with them. As a pure Ground-type, Ash believed that he should exercise a down-to-earth feeling and slowly accumulate the physical power needed for his future battles.

As for Larvitar, Ash didn't try to catch him at all. Pokémon from the Pokémon Reserve were not allowed to be caught by anyone, and now Ash no longer had any more energy or plan to train another Pseudo-Legendary so soon since he wasn't even halfway done with his current one.

So Larvitar can only walk with Ash and his group. Like Phanpy, this kind of walking can slowly exercise his still very young body to have better physical strength in the future.

Phanpy is a little newborn with a very kind-hearted personality and he also loves to take care of his little brother, so he was quickly accepted by Larvitar as his mentor, and now the two little guys have become more familiar with each other.

Molly seems to have a very strange quality. She can play well with all of Ash's Pokémon without having any issues that even Brock and Misty first faced when it came to dealing with some of Ash's Pokémon's.

This Larvitar originally only relied and came close to Ash in their travels, and then he would become stiff even if Misty or Brock came close to it, but Molly quickly made it accept her.

She is not afraid of any ferocious wild Pokémon in the face of danger because of her overwhelming belief that her older brother will make sure that she is safe.

"UR!"

Suddenly, a loud roar came from one side of the forest, and an Ursaring suddenly came out from behind one of the larger trees!

As soon as he came out, he grinned and looked very irritated, and even sent a Hyper Beam at the unexacting Molly!

Ash frowned, and just when he was about to take action, the little Larvitar who was stood in front of Molly, white light appeared all over his body, and countless light balls formed a halo around him.

"Is this?" Misty was stunned by the scene in front of her.

She saw that these light balls began to resist Ursaring's Hyper Beam without being penetrated at all, and then instead of taking the damage, he blasted Ursaring's own attack back at himself, knocking him away.

"This is the power of a newborn Larvitar's! It's already so strong really strong!" Ash said with a smile, "Even though he is still so small, he still has all that much power inside of him!"

He really does deserve the title of a being a Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon!

Larvitar and Phanpy were both very young kids who already have a good amount strength, so they often mock battle rach other under the watch if Ash and his Tyranitar. So they have now created a very strong bond and understanding of the each others power.

Moreover, Phanpy has also been previously trained by Ash's Tyranitar before when Ash did switch for his Tyranitar from the Lab to do some basic training drills.

After knocking Ursaring away, Larvitar seemed to have discovered something and went into a few patch of tall grass.

"Hey, Larvitar, where are you going?" Molly seemed not to be nervous about the danger just now, and immediately followed Larvitar, and everyone had no choice but to follow those two.

But when they saw three steaming hot springs, and the many wild Pokémon that were bathing inside of them, such as Houndour, Sentret, and Sentret's evolution form, Furret.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and the mood was also very peaceful.

"Wow, it turns out to be hot spring here!" Misty was pleasantly surprised, "I love hot springs like these the most!"

"I wants to soak in the hot spring!" Molly took the first step and ran over, but suddenly she seemed to trip on a thin silk thread. Instead of falling over it, she just seems to tore the thread off.

Suddenly, there were sounds everywhere in the jungle, as if she had triggered some sound mechanism. Which it did.

"Entei, so you did show up!" Suddenly, a young man wearing glasses and holding a computer appeared from behind them from a nearby tree.

Upon hearing him calling her Entei, Molly was the first one to exclaim out, "Entei? Big Brother, where is Entei?"

Molly couldn't wait to see the real Entei, the Pokémon she admires and loves the most in the world!

Ash had previously said to her that he would catch all three of the Legendary Beasts, that of course being Suicune, Raikou and Entei. Now he had already caught both his Suicune and his Raikou. But along the way, there was no news about the Entei she wanted to see so much. How could Molly not be excited after hearing Entei's name after so long?

The boy who appeared showed a lot of disappointment when he saw that it was not Entei who triggered his alarm, "So it was not the Entei I wanted to see! Sorry and hello, my name is Nelson!"

After the group introduced themselves, Misty asked the question that was in everyone's mind, "Is the Entei you just mentioned the Legendary Pokémon Entei?"

Nelson decisively admitted, "Of course, what other kind of Entei is there. But I really mean it, I want to catch that Pokémon!"

"You want to catch an Entei?" Both Ash and Molly exclaimed at the same time, not because they met an opponent that was planning on doing the same thing as them, but because they got Entei's information after long last.

Sure enough, Nelson nodded, "I analyzed several places where Entei has appeared before, and my result showed that Entei will appear in this area the next time!"

The sound system he built that had just sounded now was waiting for that Entei to appear and to warn him of his arrival. Obviously, he could only guess the general area where Entei appeared, but he could not predict the precise location so he built his sound system around the whole forest.

"But this is already amazing!" Ash admitted, this is a Pokémon Trainer that has his goals and pursuits set in.

There are as many roads as there are Pokémon Trainers. But many of these Trainers stop before completing their goal, just like there are so many unfinished and broken roads in the world.

"That's because Entei is the Pokémon I long for the most!" Nelson also showed his admiration.

"Hmm, Entei is also my favorite Pokémon!" Molly raised her hands and shouted loudly, "Can we search for Entei with you?"

"Of course, I'm happy to go see it with you, but if I encounter it, can you please let me try to catch it first?" Nelson's performance was much better than the Trainers they met in their journey that just liked to cause trouble for the regular peoples. Ash and his party immediately agreed to Nelson's deal.

If Nelson can really catch that Entei, that's good for him. If Nelson couldn't, Entei would be caught by Ash instead, and he would be able to complete his goal.

"Thank you very much. I have specially prepared a sure-fire move to catch that Entei!" Perhaps it was because Ash and his group were so nice to him from the beginning that Nelson was willing to share his preparations with them.

"A sure-kill move?" Molly asked curiously with wide eyes.

Nelson looked at Ash, "If you fight against me now, you can see what I mean!"

"As you wish, this is something that I will never refuse while being a Trainer!"

Nelson confronts Ash for a battle, find out what happens next on the near chapte of Pokémon!

Chapter 169: 169. Hello Entei

"Then let's start the battle with two Pokémon each for both sides! Additionally there will be only one switch for each battle, if you do it more than once, it's an automatic forfeit!" Brock acted as the referee like he does most of the time.

In fact, it doesn't matter whether there is a referee or not in such a battle like this, but such a person can also help the trainers on both sides of field get ready for their fighting and concentrate on the battle.

As soon as the battle started, Phanpy ran up and took the initiative to be Ash's first Pokémon in thsi battle. Recently, he and Larvitar were both being trained by Ash and his Tyranitar, and now that he had the chance, he wanted to see and prove its strength to its Tariner.

Of course, the Pokémon facing Nelson had already decided early on was the same one he was going to show Ash, his trump card, the one he had prepared to catch that Entei, "Misdreavus, come on out!"

Unexpectedly, what Nelson prepared was Misdreavus, a pure Ghost-type Pokémon . This little one's suze and appearance is much higher than that of the Gastly evolution line. Even Misty couldn't help but praise, "So cute!"

Molly was also thinking of catching on for herself when she becomes a real Official Pokémon Trainer.

It was honestly pretty cute. This Misdreavus has a hair style like a Will-O-Wisp, big red eyes, and a string of bright red beads hanging around his neck. She gave the feeling of a rich young lady from a wealthy family.

"Misdreavus, let's strike first, use Astonish!"

As soon as the order was given, the figure of Misdreavus suddenly appeared in front of Phanpy, with a speedy response, she made a face in front of the still very young Phanpy.

Phanpy was still a child after all, so he was immediately frightened and took a few steps back. Ash had instead smiled and encouraged him, "Phanpy, don't be afraid of that Misdreavus, let's use Rollout!"

At this stage, the skills that Phanpy can use, except for Rock-type move Rollout, are all Normal-type attacks that are preety much ineffective against a Ghost-type Pokémon like Misdreavus.

Therefore, this is a battle that this very disadvantageous for both Phanpy and Ash. Although it was just a practice match, Ash ultimately did hope to win and boost his Phanpy's confidence a bit to help him in the future!

Phanpy also got his things together under Ash's encouragement, he quickly rolled up his body and rolled out wildly towards the Misdreavus.

After all, he was trained by a Tyranitar. So they taught him how to use both his speed and his strength to have a greater advantage over his opponent .

"Misdreavus, get out of the way!" Nelson quickly ordered his Misdreavus to get out of the way.

But the longer the Rollout move goes in for, the more powerful and faster it will become!

"Phanpy, keep going!"

Seeing the Rollout attack becoming more faster and stronger, Nelson gritted his teeth and said, "Misdreavus, use Confuse Ray!"

This is a move that can throw the opponent into chaos. As expected, Phanpy, who was attacking in a straight line, failed to avoid the Confuse Ray and fell into a chaotic state of confusion, so he could not continue to maintain his Rollout streak.

Lying down and rolling on the ground.

Seeing this, Nelson grinned, "Now, Misdreavus, use Mean Look!"

Misdreavus's blood-red eyes suddenly released a black beam that hit Phanpy, but Phanpy seemed to have just a flash of black light and nothing happened to him.

"Nelson, is this the so called trump card you have prepared for Entei?" Ash asked with a smile.

"That's right, Ash, now that your Phanpy has fallen into a state of confusion, and you can no longer use your Poké Ball to get him back inside of it to recover. It is no longer possible for him to continue fighting!" Nelson nodded.

Molly is still a little unfamiliar with moves like Mean Look. After all, she was still very young, and it is already very impressive to be familiar with the Type Table. "Big Brother, what kind of move is this Mean Look?"

"It stares motionlessly with a mean look that seems to be very dangerous, so that the opponent cannot escape from the battle." Ash turned back and explained to Molly, "In other words, the opposition who is fighting cannot be retrieved inside of the Poké Ball, and if it is a wild Pokémon, they too can't escape from where they are!"

With this explanation, Molly now had a better understood, "That is to say, to make Entei confused, and then take the opportunity to make it unable to escape, so that there will be a greater chance of catching it!"

"Molly is so smart!" Misty and Brock began to praise her just like they always do.

This is also the reason why this battle is set to a two versus two. If there is only one Pokémon and cannot be replaced, this unique move will pretty much be meaningless, right?

At this moment, the sound system set by Nelson sounded again from the other side of the jungle.

Nelson's eyes lit up, and he didn't bother to say anything to Ash and the others, and he then quickly ran away with his Misdreavus following him.

Ash knew that his group could fall behind if they don't hurry up and follow him, so he told his Latias of immediately used Confusion to carry Molly on her back, and she immediately followed hisnoreder.

"DA!"

Before they could catch up with Nelson, they heard a deafening roar!

Then they walked through the jungle and came to a hillside. On that hillside, Entei looked down at the ground like he was an emperor!

As agreed, Nelson also stepped forward first, "Entei, I challenge you to a battle! If I win, you let me catch you and if I lose— that's not going to happen!"

This is an open declaration of a battle to decide who is better!

As if sensing Nelson's heart, Entei did not turn around and leave immediately, but let out an annoyed roar!

He accepted Nelson's challenge ti him!

"Misdreavus, use Confuse Ray!"

However, Misdreavus's Confuse Ray did absolutely nothing. Entei just casually fired a small pew and formed an attack even smaller than an Ember to block the Confise Ray from even coming close to him.

"Damn it!" Entei being so nonchalant with fighting him made Nelson grit his teeth, "Misdreavus, use Mean Look!"

Taking advantage of the moment the fireball dissipated, Mean Look actually succeeded on Entei!

"Oh yeah, this way you can't escape anymore!" Seeing that his Mean Look was successful, Nelson breathed a sigh of relief, "Misdreavus, use Swift!"

But Entei didn't even try to dodge from the attack. These little stars hit him without causing any harm to him. Instead, they made him feel better from the itch he was feeling in his fur.

This just goes to show how powerful of a body Entei has or how weak his Misdreavus was.

Nelson was taken aback and was about to launch his next attack, but Entei had apparently had enough of his shenanigans!

"ROAR!" (Funnily enough, this is the actual move he was using. Just to let you guys know.)

With a loud roar, Misdreavus was forced to retreat back into her Poké Ball. The battle was pretty much over with this, and since Misdreavus was back inside of her Poké Ball, the Mean Look was naturally ineffective!

Entei was about to turn around and leave, but Ash had already walked up to where Nelson was standing, "Entei, the same rules go for me!"

Hearing his voice, Entei turned back and got ready for a battle again!

There is no doubt that Ash would send out one of his strongest Trump Cards in his current hand and in the future, "Stand by for battle, Tyranitar!"

"TYRANITAR!"

The Desert Tyrant appeared violently and let out a roar that was not inferior to Entei in any form or shape!

After such a long period of special training by Ash and the Macho Brace, Tyranitar has an extremely powerful body and has reached a height of 2.5 meters. If it continues like this, it may actually reach the terrifying height when it was caught by the Dark Poké Ball!

"A Tyranitar? Why didn't he use it against me in our battle?" Nelson swallowed hard, feeling like he couldn't breathe at all. Who is this Ash and why this Tyranitar is too scary?

On the contrary, Larvitar and Phanpy, when they saw Tyranitar on the stage, cheered together to cheer for their big boss!

"Tyranitar, let's go!" Ash's eyes flashed with a blue color, "Tyranitar, Hyper Beam!"

BOOM!

The destructive Hyper Beam blasted towards Entei almost as soon as the order was given, directly blasting the hillside where Entei was located into absolute bits.

Entei had no choice but to jump down from above and stood in front of Ash and his party.

"Entei is so cool!" Molly was so happy to see the real Entei up so close.

The decision to travel with Ash was so right. She actually met the real Entei! She must tell her father when she goes back!

"ROAR!"

Entei and Tyranitar began to confront each other, and the battle of conquest has only really begun now!
