Chapter 34: THIRTY-FOUR

We finally got together with mom to talk, Karen and I had decided not to let this go. Char had gone out to meet some guy she didn't tell me about. All she said was "He's a cool guy".

Karen and I sat together on the couch while mom sat across us, she was staring at the floor pretending to be ashamed. I don't buy her pretense no more.

"We don't need to address what happened anymore. Karen and I had decided to cut ties with you". She looked up at us, shocked. I bet she never expected that.

"No no, you can't do this to me, I'm your mother". She said.

"A mother who only burdens her children, takes advantage of them, embarrasses them…. Mothers don't do that". I tell her

"Is it wrong for me to want to be taken care of by my children?" She asked, for the first time, she seemed sincerely sad.
