Its been two years since Jon Snow was welcomed into the SnowStark household as Lord Aaron's squire. The twelve year old boy has transformed from a nervous insecure wreck to a confident yet quiet boy.
At first he thought he would still be treated like a bastard like in Winterfell but was surprised to see that Sea Dragon Point takes all comers. As long as you strive honestly there would be a place for you.
He even has a good relationship with Lady Ashara who became like a surrogate mother for him. She treats him with respect and care even if he's a bastard. Maybe its a Dorne thing.
He grew very close with the children. He and Arin are thick as thieves. Arin's situation even surprised him considering he is not directly related by blood to the Snowstark's. At most a distant nephew but he was legalized as one because of a promise between his father and Lord Aaron.
When he turns sixteen he will be in control of a holdfast that controls a pass into the Point. Lucky him.
Everyone of Lord Aaron's children are very talented martially. Brandon is the best with a sword with him being a close second. Lysara is best with a spear and very good with poisons. Something she learnt from Lady Ashara. She once slipped something into his drink that kept him on the privy for almost a day because he didn't go riding with her.
Orion is just blessed. Amazing with swords and spears but not the best but with a bow in hand…. no one can stop him. After Lord Snowstark got him a weirwood bow with an weird string he can't miss anything with 130 paces. He's too good, too accurate.
Vindictive chit.
Lord Aaron decided he was taking Orion and I on a journey throughout the seven kingdoms and some of Essos. He said its to broaden their perspectives and create connections while improving their martial abilities.
Plus he doesn't want to get rusty. The peace has been too long. And a long peace is always followed by a hard war. And if he remembers correctly there was a long war coming soon.
He's working with second hand explanations from his friend. He can't accurately predict the future. What he can do is predict the way people react and things are going.
Aaron walked in on Jon and Orion sparring in the yard. He taught them muay thai although he just calls it cqc here. Jon won by sending his knee into Orion's belly which made him collapse on the ground. He took that chance to get them to be ready. He's taking Ashara with him to drop off at Norvos to stay with Elia.
She misses her and wants to stay with her for some moons. I'm leaving Arin and Brandon in charge and in control. Should prepare them for when I'm not here. The stewards will help them also.
'Boys. Get dressed we're going a viking.'
The two of them turned their heads at a slight angle with confusion marred on their face.
'Aviking?? What does that mean, dad.' asked Orion.
I smiled,
You'll see. Pack up everything you need. We won't be seeing these shores for two years.'
With that Lord SnowStark took ten ships and sailed off to Essos with his wife, son and ward.It was his way of taking a break from his duties and doing what he does best.
Conflict.
And as a sellsword he cannot do conflict for free. So he leaves his heir to take care of his lands as a test. Without the aid of either parents how will he perform? He believes his son will push through though.
He even left his second valyrian blade Solitude with his son but nothing can make him oart from Lady Calypso but death. She was his revenge against House Rogarè. He had half the mind to kill off the rest of them but decided against it.
Not worth his time. Too weak is the house now. They fell from grace during the past years due to him funding their enemies. Who knew you could win cold wars like that.
Time passed by and a moon went by. They finally arrived in Norvos.
