Chapter 18: Goals

'What the fuck is this power,' Josh thought, confused and slightly less excited than before. Why would he ever need the ability to digest corn?
The part of corn that was hard to digest was cellulose.
Josh wondered if he would be able to eat grass now. Despite this he didn't plan to try this, just like he didn't plan to increase his intake of corn.
'Well, now I know that not every power will be useful.'
Moving on from the disappointment, Josh pondered what else he hadn't looked at in the system for a while.
He remembered that he had a stats panel and decided to pull it up, 'Stats.'

Looking at his stats, Josh thought they made sense. His last body enhancement had given him bigger muscles, and coming from a point of low muscle mass, the increase was palpable. He also wasn't surprised his charisma had gone up. He had noticed that his confidence had increased over the last few days. He had also gotten more physically attractive because of his bodily changes.
Josh remembered that some of his newly completed acts gave him extra items he could buy in the permanent shop. He normally just bypassed the interface and bought what he wanted, forgetting that he had completed several new things.

Finishing his nightly routine, he turned the ceiling fan on to create white noise, closed the blinds, and lay in bed, quickly falling asleep, leaving the eventful Wednesday behind.
Thursday came quickly, as did most school days, and Josh woke up bright and early at 6 A.M. He started his day like usual, showering, mirroring his nightly routine, and heading to school. The only difference from weeks past was that Josh did not jerk off.

This is to say, Josh continued his daily activities the same as ever. He had still been finding time to read web novels each night and to play video games.
This was Josh's attempt at continuing to have a mostly normal life. At the end of the day, he still wanted to eventually get married to a singular woman and have a successful career in software development. [AN: He will still have fun in the mean time :)]
