CHAPTER 26

Tessa quickly pushed Klaus out of the way, she couldn't think of anything else, if she didn't react on time, Klaus would definitely get stabbed in the neck, and that would definitely be death.

Klaus let Tessa push him out of the way, he knew Edward was coming with a dagger, but he didn't do anything because he wanted to see Tessa's reaction, to think she would push him out of the way was surprising to him.

Other girls would probably scream and do nothing, but Tessa was able to control herself in that split second.

Klaus couldn't help but smile, he didn't knock Edward out because he wanted Edward to stand up and continue the fight, then he would delay the fight as much as possible until he finally knocked him out.

He knew exactly what to do in order to escape strange ideas from people, but to think Edward would be so guileful to attack him from behind was disheartening, given he was a military personnel, and unacceptable.

The military special unit had fallen to a great extent, somebody would have to fix it.

Klaus expression changed into a deadly one, he shouldn't be holding back on people like this.

Tessa's eyes instinctively closed as the dagger was about to brush her on the chest, but in an instant, the dagger disappeared from Edward's hands.

Edward's eyes widened in shock, before he could comprehend the motion, Klaus had already stabbed him in his chest.

Edward instantly coughed out a mouthful of blood as the dagger penetrated his chest region, he couldn't believe what was going on, all he saw was his weapon disappearing from his hands, and getting stabbed in his chest.

His eyes moved to Klaus.

'What the hell is this'

'Who is the devil name is this Private'

Edward coughed out another mouthful of blood, blood spring out from his chest region.

Everybody in the hall was on their feet now, they had no idea what they were witnessing, to think a private would be able to wound a head commander was beyond belief.

Jeremy was at a loss of words again. He didn't know how Klaus moved so fast to hijack Edward's weapon and also attack at the same time.

'Isn't Klaus a Private'

Tessa slowly opened her eyes when she didn't feel any pain, her eyes widened completely when she saw the scene before her, Klaus was piercing a dagger inside Edward's chest.

Her attention moved to Klaus, and her heart missed a beat when she saw the terrifying look on Klaus face. His golden eyes had somehow turned into a red sun.

Klaus' voice was heard then. It was dry.

"If I don't remove this dagger within the next thirty seconds, you will fall and die"

Murmuring sounds instantly covered the premises, Klaus tightened his grip on the dagger and continued.

"You have thirty seconds to apologize to miss Tessa, and drop your Head commander badge on the floor, but I must let you know. Given the cut, you can't say more than a hundred words or you will die, so you have to be quick. And given the cut, you can only move your hands twice or you will die, so you must drop your badge on the first try"

Klaus words increased the murmuring sound in the surroundings. They were flabbergasted to see Klaus was threatening a head commander.

A private was giving a head commander an order.

'Who does he think he is'

Tessa was panicking deep down, she didn't see Edward apologizing and even if he did, he would definitely come back for revenge.

Whatever road this would lead to, it wasn't going to end well.

She knew all these things yet she couldn't voice them out because she believed Klaus knew better than her, yet he still went on in the first place.

'It simply means that Klaus is not afraid of a head commander, or could it be he has a strong sense of justice'

She wondered if this had to do with Klaus having a strong sense of justice, meaning he wouldn't be able to look away from a crime, or he was just bigger than a head commander.

No way Klaus would be bigger than a head commander, the badge doesn't lie.

Edward's face darkened, how dare this kid give him an order?

He roared.

"Do you have any idea what you are doing? I am a Head commander, your superior. Remove this dagger now!!!"

Klaus remained unwavering on his spot, he sounded straight away.

"You are no longer a head commander, you have broken the conduct of the military special unit by trying to harm a normal citizen. As such, you are to drop your badge on the floor and walk away. Your resignation will be carried out straight away. All your privileges and benefits would be withdrawn, and you are to apologize to the person you wronged"

Edward's face turned ugly, he wanted to voice out but he coughed out a mouthful of blood instead.

Klaus tightened his grip on the dagger, more like he was pushing the dagger inside. It was almost reaching Edward's heart now.

Edward coughed out blood again, the floor was already messed up by his blood. cold sweat was dripping from his face and he was breathing heavily.

Klaus sounded.

"Remember you have nothing less than a hundred words, well, I have reduced that by adding more force to the dagger, now you have less than fifty words to apologize and you must remove your badge as quickly as you apologize or you might end up dying in the process"

Klaus looked straight into Edward's eyes.

"If you don't apologize within the next three seconds. I would push the dagger a little more, and that would be your death"

Edward's eyes widened, he was terrified.

Klaus immediately started counting. His voice was low, but it was heard by everybody due to the quietness.

Tessa could barely recognize Klaus anymore, he was like a grim reaper.

"One"

Klaus sounded again.

"Two"

Edward wanted to say something when somebody's voice was heard among the crowds.

"That is enough"

Everybody's attention moved to the person except Klaus.

The person was putting on a red military uniform with several medals on it.

Tessa spotted the silver star among the man's medals, just like King of War Alexander silver star, but the number on the man star was five.

A five-star king of war.

Connor Jefferson stepped out of the crowd, his expression was deadpan, he have had enough of this drama, this disloyalty to superiority, even if they were right or wrong.

He couldn't stand back and watch a mere Private humiliate a Head commander.

Jefferson reached Klaus.

"Let go of Head Commander Edward Jackson at once. There are steps to take when a law like this is broken, you can't have the final say. You are just a Private"

Some Head Commanders and Commanders stepped forward then, they stood firmly behind Jefferson.

Tessa's heart was beating fast seeing a king of war was involved now, but at least Klaus wasn't on the wrong side, now he just had to let go of Edward, and the bodies in charge would take it from here.

His unyielding resolve paid off!

Klaus didn't bother to look at any of them, his attention remained on Edward, Edward's face was pale now, he was dying.

Klaus sounded without looking at anybody.

"You should've stepped in a lot sooner, now that it has reached this stage, I am afraid I can't do what you ask me to do. It's either Edward Jackson obey me or die"

Jefferson's face turned ugly, he couldn't believe Klaus refused to obey his words, a mere Private.

He didn't even bother to look at them.

'Who does he think he is'

Jefferson took one step closer to Klaus.

"I am King of War Connor Jefferson, and I am ordering you to let the Head commander go this minute. This is an order Private, disobeying my order would cause you even more trouble than Head Commander Edward Jackson"

Tessa's eyes were on Klaus, she couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Klaus's grips hardened on the dagger like he was about to do the final push.

Jefferson sounded again.

"I am warning you Private. Disobeying... "

Before he could finish his words, Klaus swung the dagger up, and it burst out from Edward's shoulder.

Blood burst out and Edward fell to the ground.

Klaus finally faced Jefferson.

"The three-second countdown is over. I am sorry, I don't go back on my words"
