Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2
Olivia's face turned ugly, nobody had ever held her hand this aggressively before, not even her father.
How dare this bumpkin girl pull her back.
"Are you dumb! Do you know what you just did"
David's face darkened, Tessa was out of her mind, how dare Tessa hold Olivia? He raised his voice.
"Tessa, let go of Olivia now, do you have any idea what you are doing, have you forgotten the family she came from!"
David's face turned ugly as he glared at Tessa.
"You want an explanation, well, I will give you one, but let Olivia go now!"
Olivia looked at Tessa in disdain.
"Listen to David if you don't want any consequences. I will pretend this never happened. Otherwise, my family would demand your head for this audacity"
Tessa was shaking on her spot, the anger inside her was exploding and becoming something that she was finding hard to contain.
She was doing the right thing here.
She deserved an explanation, why was she being attacked instead, like she was doing the wrong thing?
Tessa let go of Olivia's hand, Olivia's cheeks moved.
"Know your place, hag. Next time you won't be so lucky"
She turned to David.
"I will see you tomorrow, David"
Olivia wanted to walk past Tessa again when Tessa gripped her right hand and pulled her back. Tessa just couldn't let Olivia go, she demanded an explanation, and she deserved one.
Olivia was stunned on her spot, her breath vibrating violently. How dare this hag, she roared.
"Let go of my hand bitch!"
Her face squeezed.
"I—"
Before she could voice out, Tessa slapped her on her face. Olivia staggered backward and collapsed to the floor.
"How dare you kiss him, did you forget that he is married"
David was flabbergasted on his spot, he hurriedly rushed to help Olivia up.
"Are you okay"
He wanted to help Olivia up when Olivia pushed his hands away. She looked at David with anger written on her face.
"Are you just going to stand there? Hit her back, or I would cancel our partnership!"
David's expression changed to a deadly one, Tessa must be insane or stupid, she dares to hit Olivia despite knowing her family background.
Did she think that he would support her? What a fool! Now she had made Olivia enraged, he had to do something or Olivia would be mad for sure.
David stepped to Tessa and landed a heavy slap on her face.
"How dare you hit Olivia, do you realize what you have done? Go on your knees and apologize to her"
Tessa was dumbfounded, she couldn't believe David hit her, David had never hit her before, and she certainly didn't expect it to happen on this occasion.
"I am your wife!"
Tessa raised her voice, but David didn't put ears to her words.
"Go on your knees Tessa, so what if you are my wife, you have no right to hit Olivia. Do you even realize the consequences of your actions? I am trying to save you here"
Tessa didn't know whether to laugh or cry when she heard David's words, she was the one who deserved to be barking now, yet they were the ones telling her what to do, and what not to do.
It was obvious now, it was obvious that David didn't see himself committing a crime, and he certainly didn't care about her feelings, all he cared about was his company's growth.
He would do anything for that.
This hurt Tessa to the bone, after three years, she was still treated as a commoner.
"How shameless are you David, you cheated on me, you should be on your knees begging, but you want me to apologize to your bitch mistress!"
David angrily pointed at Tessa.
"Mind the words you use, Tessa. If you don't apologize to Olivia, then it's over between us! I would divorce you immediately"
Tessa's heart missed a beat, after what just happened, it was obvious that one of them would bring this up, but she never thought about it, she thought David would explain himself, and beg for forgiveness, then she would forgive him, but warned him countless times that it shouldn't repeat itself.
Never did she imagine that David would handle the matter this way, and he wanted her to apologize to his mistress, or else, he would divorce her.
What an insult! What a disgrace!
'Who do they think I am! How do they look at me? Damn, I have suffered'
Tessa looked at David fully.
"Then it's over. You can keep fucking this bitch, I don't care anymore! Just make sure you bring the divorce papers to me before today runs out!"
She turned heading to the door.
David was shocked to the bone, Tessa agreed to divorce him, she must be stupid or something worse.
Tessa was from a local family in the countryside, her family would probably be farmers, she would never enjoy a glorious life if she divorce him.
She would suffer!
David roared.
"Take one more step, and it's definitely over between us. I will make sure you go back to the countryside where your family resides"
Tessa halted when she heard the word family. She had no expression on her face, she turned to David.
"At least nobody behaves like an animal there"
Tessa's eyes moved to Olivia who was standing behind David.
"Imagine somebody from a reputable family, cutting herself so low to having intimacy with a married man, and demanding an award for it. I bet that is how you behave in your family, bunch of wild animals putting on makeup!"
Tessa paused, then she continued.
"My family might be from the countryside, but we don't behave like animals. We are more cultured than you and your families. I downgraded myself for marrying an animal, please be quick with the divorcement papers. I will end it today"
David and Olivia were stunned, nobody had ever insulted them this way before, Tessa didn't wait for their response, she was done with them. She turned towards the door.
Olivia's face turned ugly, she looked at David expecting him to say something, but he was tongue-tied, Olivia's face darkened more, how could she let a bumpkin girl insult her and go scout free.
She looked around and spotted a bottle of champagne close to David's desk.
Tessa was about to open the door when Olivia smashed the bottle of champagne on her head.
BANG!
Tessa's vision went black, and she collapsed to the ground.
