A Decision Can Change Things

Dominic, who was in front, asked in a cold tone, "Are you two alone?"

"Answer the question!" Alicia knew these kids could be lying, so following Dominic, she decided to be a bit more aggressive, at least until they knew they weren't lying.

"Don't shoot us... It's just us; our parents died." Both kids shook their heads. They weren't that young; they could easily be thirteen.

In some ways, Dominic's situation could be similar to that of the kids in front of him. If they were not willing to accept them, these kids would probably die later.

They were smart to see them killing walkers; if this wasn't a trap, Dominic admired the bravery and intelligence of these kids to decide to come here with the possibility of dying on the way.

Looking at the two trembling kids, although wholeheartedly, Dominic wants to accept them; after all, there was a girl to take care of and unite more, which would turn their group into a nursery.

Alicia looked at Dominic; she knew perfectly well what he was thinking, so she said, "Whatever your decision, it will determine if they live or die."

"Can you carry these suitcases?" Dominic pointed to the suitcases on the floor without approving or denying anything.

"We can, sir."

"Very well, before we move on, what are your names?" Alicia smiled behind her helmet when Dominic accepted them.

"I am Amanda, and my brother is Cristian; we are siblings." Amanda stepped forward to greet.

Dominic, who was looking around, said, "We must hurry; I don't want anyone else to see us."

Since they had to return with Sophia, there was little time to lose, so they all set off when they knew they had to hurry. In less than an hour, the suitcases were in the van. Dominic, who was driving, looked at those kids, and there was no one he could recognize, unlike Sophia, who was Carol's daughter.

According to the time that had passed, Dominic was surprised that after some time driving, they had just encountered Sophia, who, according to the original story, should have died at the hands of walkers.

Now he understands in a better way that decisions can change the lives of many people. Knowing everything one could go through, Dominic appreciates life much more.

This whole world that he still needed to know was full of people worth it; at least there was still hope of being able to save certain people.

When they returned, Dominic prepared to leave this place; they had to be on the move to find Sophia's mother and, in passing, the way to contact their people.

At least now he was eager to return. Alicia had to look at her mother and had many more things to do now that she could save other people she had never considered.

Dominic wasn't very excited about relating to people he thought he knew; the last time his girlfriend died, he became so obsessed with it that he lost sight of what was most important.

"What do we agree on now?" Alicia broke the silence after removing her mask.

Dominic looked through the rearview mirror and said, "We will find a way to repair the radio, get in touch with the base, and they will send a rescue helicopter."
