"Is it a holy knight this time...?" Grey muttered, in his grasp the parchment known as the [Kill List]. His purple eyes then looked for Moly, who was brandishing the [Anon Spell Blade] filled with crimson blood since the latter had yet to possess a sturdy and tangible weapon for herself.

Grey then queried, "Moly, don't you have any better things to do? We've only known each other for like a week or so and yet we're bounty hunting together."

Hearing this, Moly glanced around. Their surroundings were quiet, only the howling of winds and the cawing of crows could be heard. In front of them, a ginormous, lavished mansion with no innocent blood was in rubbles. It was barricaded with a dome-like barrier, a manifestation of overtime spell through an artifact.

Even all of the fighting that had just transpired, the deafening silence still pervaded. Bystanders were non-existent as the place was the embodiment of secluded.

"Grey…" Moly muttered, her crimson eyes glanced towards the heavens. "Maybe it was fate that we've met. Since then, I feel like I could be my true self around you."

'What is she mumbling about?' Grey inwardly said.

Met with his questioning gaze, Moly smiled.

"What I'm trying to say… is that I'll accompany you whenever and wherever you need me to. It's not like I have a family or anything."

Even though Grey was already aware of this woman's life history, he solemnly responded,

"I see. If that's what you want, just don't get in my way."

Moly chuckled, her eyes glimmered under the moon.

"Okay, catch!" She then released the [Anon Spell Blade] from her grasp, throwing it to him who was sitting on the mansion's veranda.

"Hey! It's dangerous to throw sharp objects around!" Grey scoffed. He then added, "Anyway, I'll do the subjugation this time."

Moly looked at him suspiciously. It was because being around this particular existence these past few days allowed her to hear "words" that were unfamiliar like "spacecraft" and blood sample for "DNA."

"Do you have a plan?" She asked.

"First things first, there's no need to kill this last target." Grey's lips arched before he continued, "We're making him a mediator of holiness!"

Moly was not able to comprehend what Grey meant by that, prompting her to dismiss it as a bounty hunters' fantasy.

"Sigh, that kind of excited smile again?" Moly shook her head. She had yet to get used to this man's peculiarity.

Grey remained silent.

Jumping off from the veranda of the mansion, he then approached the slumped dead body facing the ground filled with crimson. She was a Magus from the Queendom of Mystigrandum.

For some reason, the individuals in the [Kill List] that was provided by the Shadow Guild's Borax Doranfell were all running away from something, be it from their own bloodline or another else.

Taking something from his laboratory coat's pocket, Moly's ruby eyes squinted.

"A syringe again?"

"Blood sample is a must, Moly."

Poke.

The syringe's needle tightly pierced through the lifeless woman's forearms, touching the cold veins.

Ding!

[A blood sample from a Magus has been collected.]

It was the Extraterrestrial System's formality.

A few days later.

"Are you certain that's the target?" Moly asked casually; both of them were blending in the crowd as ordinary members of society.

At this moment, they were in a lively bazaar in one of the bustling streets in the Capital City of the Holy Empire; stalls, hawkers, restaurants and horse carriages filled the wide crowded path.

"I am certain, but at the same time doubtful. After all, I thought it's a holy knight, but it turns out to be a damn priest."

"Doubtful… but your expression's telling me otherwise." Moly looked at him. Both of them were casually standing in front of one of many stalls selling street foods. On the other hand, the target named Priest Arnein Mirgon, donning a brown priest robe, whose hair was short brown, whose eyes were of the same color, was standing some distance away from them.

It was as though he's waiting for someone.

"Well, he's a perfect target for my plan." Grey said.

[Master, would you like to use "Knowledge Assimilation" to absorb every knowledge about the target individual, Arnein Mirgon?]

Krishnaya's soft yet firm voice echoed in his skull.

These past two weeks since the Extraterrestrial System was now able to utilize [Knowledge Assimilation], Grey had a realization throughout his seemingly boring journey so far.

'Don't worry about it. I realized that knowing something instantly sometimes destroys the thrill of gradually learning it.'

[Okay, Master. Just tell me if you desire anything.]

'Of course. Just observe for now.'

"By the way, Moly. Can you do something for me?"

'Considering the huge crowd and the noise, it's doable.'

***

Priest Arnein Mirgon was a man in his early forties. His body was well-built as a former member of the Holy Order, at least a minor division of it. His atmosphere was gentle, a testament to his adult life as a priest of a small church believing in the Lumen Goddess.

However, everyone has a secret, and he was not an exception.

'I find evidence of the Hero Bloodline's corruption. I need to tell the Vice-Captain of the Lumos Squad.' Priest Arnein muttered inwardly.

The reason he chose this bazaar was not solely to the bustling crowd, but rather the acceptance of Mutants in this area. After all, everyone from the Hero Bloodline had repulsive hatred towards Mutants, causing them to avoid any place where Mutants were allowed to coexist in society.

For them, they were an abomination of existence. And a Mutant's seemingly inexplicable power was a blessing from the Dark God of the Dark Lands, the counterpart of light; the personification of blasphemy.

'Is Vice-Captain Lanken late? I've informed him, but some errands probably came up. There's no helping it then, I'll wait.'

To tell himself that he was not a bit tense was an absurd lie. In this world where the Hero Bloodline held much power, the possibility of breaking their own principles were not out of the question.

In other words…

"F-Father…?"

A Mutant could be commanded to assassinate him in any case they managed to sniff a smoke of his plan, which was to gradually deal a blow to the Hero Bloodline and tarnished their reputation even by a scratch.

"Huh? Me?" Priest Arnein pointed fingers to himself, confusion was in his countenance.

"Y-Yes! Father Arnein, right?!"

In front of him, a lithe girl with pale and flawless skin, whose eyes were shimmering crimson, clasped her hands in joy.

"W-who?" He asked.

"I'm one of your church's attendees!" Moly smiled.

'Why is he feeling tense to the point that I can smell it?' She inwardly thought, keeping her façade.

"Ah, is that so? May the Lumen Goddess-" Just as he was about to leave after saying such phrase, Moly interjected in a whispering voice.

"Father, Vice-Captain Arnor sends me to tell you something."

His eyes widened, nervousness was painted on his face.

"He's busy with some matters within the Holy Order, and that you he'll contact you with the same method as usual. Stay low, Father."

Priest Arnein's mind was in turmoil, uncertain if he should believe this woman who just appeared out of nowhere.

Wiii!

Boom!

It was then that something was fired from the skies; a magic spell parade similar to fireworks, the commemoration of the bazaar's new event.

With everyone's gazes caught in a split second…

Woom!

The figure of the priest vanished into oblivion.
