"Let's play a little game!"
Snape wasn't easily persuaded.
He quickly proposed a challenge that was usually difficult for Cedric:
"If the number of incorrect answers from the Hufflepuffs is no more than 1 during potion making, you'll get +5 points if successful, otherwise, you'll lose 1 point."
