Ha!
Lia sat up, her eyes filled with confusion and fatigue. She realized she was on a king-sized bed in a spacious and richly decorated room.
"What is this place?" She muttered.
"My home. A guest bedroom, but it's yours now." Lucius's voice spooked her.
She yelped in fright and quickly turned around only to see Lucius seated on a sofa next to the bed bedside table. In his hands was a book titled "Half A Century Since The Night Of Blue Death: God's Will Or Man-Made?'
Only after seeing Lucius did the memories of that night come rushing in. She instinctively covered her mouth in shock, did back then, and scrambled away to the other side of the bed.
"You killed a guardian." Lia gasped.
"Yes, I did." Lucius nodded, still focused on his book without sparing her a glance.
"Are you holding me hostage so that I won't testify to the police?" She asked, while her eyes darted around, searching for escape routes.
"Maybe…" Lucius shrugged.
