Chapter 86 Dumbledore: I will cast a spell to kill Quirrell myself

"Quirrell!?"

Hermione remembered Andy had told her some time ago that there was a good chance that Quirrell was hiding in the Forbidden Forest.

Harry and Ron had even explored the Forbidden Forest at night to find evidence.

It's just that after entering the Forbidden Forest, they stepped on a poisonous mushroom and got knocked out by the poisonous fumes spewed out by the mushroom.

"It's highly likely that Quirrell had set fire to the Forbidden Forest to attract the attention of the professors so that he could take advantage of the opportunity to enter the castle and steal the Philosopher's Stone," Hermione had a worried look on her face, and she didn't know if Headmaster Dumbledore could think of this.

She had just checked it out, Headmaster Dumbledore hadn't made an appearance in the Great Hall, and neither had Professor Down.

Maybe they had gone to the Forbidden Forest!

The young witch thought, Headmaster Dumbledore went to the Forbidden Forest, Professor McGonagall patrolled the castle, and Professor Flitwick and Professor Snape stayed in the Great Hall...

This way, Quirrell's plan shouldn't work.

Hermione sidled closer to Andy and whispered, "Should we tell the professor?"

"If we can think of it, the professor can naturally think of it too." Andy didn't want to attract trouble.

Hermione nodded, then turned her head to look in the direction of the professor's seat. Andy was affected and followed Hermione's line of sight.

It just so happened that Snape also looked towards the two.

Andy and Snape looked at each other, and then he opened his mouth and made the 'SB' mouthing shape, before turning around quickly.

Snape froze, what did 'SB' mean?

A code word?

Or was it reminding him of something?

Snape's eyes narrowed slightly, what exactly did Collins mean?

Andy obviously knew more of the truth than the other young wizards.

With the forbidden forest on fire at the moment, Quirrell was likely to make a move, and Snape clearly didn't think Andy would make a pointless gesture at this point in time.

Snape's English words started with 'S', so what were the words that started with 'B'?

There were so many words that started with 'B' that Snape couldn't figure out what Andy was trying to tell him at one time.

'If it was something important, Collins would have reported it directly to the professor...'

Snape frowned slightly, he was a man with an arrogant personality, if 'SB' was really some kind of code word, he would rather spend more time researching it than asking Andy directly.

The moment he turned his head, the hairs on Andy's back stood up straight.

Scared the hell out of me!

When he used to go to school, Andy would occasionally look around in class. If he and his better-connected classmates happened to look at each other, making a mouth shape and cursing was nothing more than a joke between friends.

I didn't expect to curse Snape today.

Or cursed to his face.

It was a good thing Snape didn't know the meaning of 'SB', otherwise he might have grilled Andy's face with a Killing Curse.

During the waiting period in the Great Hall, one after another students returned to the great hall.

Many people were curious about what exactly happened in the Forbidden Forest and why Headmaster Dumbledore did not show up until now.

Was he fighting the enemy in the Forbidden Forest?

Or was he held back by something?

With the professor no longer managing order, the great hall gradually resounded with buzzing chatter. Everyone was discussing the matter of the Forbidden Forest with the people around them, and all kinds of strange and bizarre speculations came out.

Some said it was an invasion of dark wizards.

Some said it was vampires.

Others said it was a werewolf rebellion.

Naturally, giants and trolls can't escape, and the most outrageous thing is that there are also people guessing that Dumbledore and the Ministry of Magic's Aurors are fighting.

"Headmaster Dumbledore hasn't fought for decades, who knows how strong he is now, maybe he's too old to move."

"Impossible, Headmaster Dumbledore is the greatest wizard of the twentieth century, and the one the You-Know-Who fear the most, no one can defeat him."

"..."

Andy listened for a long while, many young wizards were guessing the reasons why Dumbledore didn't show up, they were sure that he must have been fighting with the enemy in the Forbidden Forest.

That fire was the proof!

Some people said that it was a Fire-Making Spell cast by Dumbledore, and the flames in the Forbidden Forest rose up to the sky, even the clouds in the sky were dispersed by the flames.

Andy had to admit that Hogwarts was indeed the birthplace of rumours, and the ideas of these unreliable little wizards were simply out of this world.

About half an hour or so later, Professor McGonagall returned.

She walked briskly over to the professor's seat crossing the long tables, and Flitwick and Snape also gathered there.

"Are all the students here?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"Just counted, they're all here!" Flitwick said.

"That's great!"

Professor McGonagall was visibly relieved, and then showed a sad face, "Down was sent back by Hagrid, and is now in the school's hospital wicg in a very bad condition."

"Hmm?" Snape was still thinking about 'SB' and finally snapped back to his senses when he heard the name Down.

"He was attacked by dark magic and is badly injured."

Professor McGonagall seemed intolerant, "Madam Pomfrey examined him; Down was tortured with a Cruciatus Curse."

Snape's pupils momentarily shrunk slightly, but his expression didn't change at all, "A Cruciatus Curse?"

Professor McGonagall said, "Albus has gone to the Forbidden Forest, hopefully, he will catch the perpetrator."

Snape's face hardened.

After experiencing the last war, he knew very well that very few wizards could bear the torture of the Cruciatus Curse.

Down had only been subjected to the Cruciatus Curse, not the Killing Curse...

Snape could only think of two possibilities.

Either Down had stubbornly resisted without confessing, or Voldemort had tampered with Down's memories when Down was delirious.

Although Dumbledore was equally proficient in memory magic, tampering with memories was much easier than sorting through them.

"Who started the fire in the Forbidden Forest?" Snape asked.

"It was Down, I checked his wand."

Professor McGonagall explained, "Maybe he set the fire as a call for help."

Snape: "..."

If the person dictating the action was Quirrell, then there was that possibility.

But if the person leading the operation was Voldemort, then Down must have defected - whether he wanted to or not.

What the hell was Dumbledore up to?

Snape was a little vexed; playing with Voldemort in the school was ultimately too risky.

One slip of the tongue might result in a student being attacked by Voldemort.

Snape really couldn't figure out what was going on in Dumbledore's head.

Dumbledore, who was cursed out by Snape, was currently in the depths of the Forbidden Forest, using magic to track down Quirrell's whereabouts.

Compared to the others, Dumbledore was clearly the angriest.

Down was the professor he had invited here, while Quirrell was hiding in the Forbidden Forest under his indulgence.

Yet he did not anticipate that Down would be attacked by Quirrell.

This undoubtedly broke the little unspoken balance between Dumbledore and Voldemort.

Once the balance is broken, the consequences will be disastrous.

Voldemort in the future will certainly act without scruples.

Because of this, Dumbledore finally made up his mind.

He would personally cast a spell tonight to finish off Quirrell!
