Chapter 28: The White Tiger Clan

Evelyn belonged to the Baihue family, also known as the White Tiger Clan. Her great-grandfather was originally a small official from Jiang who moved to Fyn with his family many decades ago. Due to his extensive knowledge, he was recognized by the King and successfully entered the palace. Since then, the Baihue family has been considered one of the three great clans of the Kingdom.

The Baihue Clan had three branches. Evelyn belonged to the third branch; her father was the Minister of Trade. Though she and Hejin technically belonged to the same family, his father was the eldest son of the Bai family, and his position in the palace was higher. This meant that, even if she didn't necessarily like Hejin as a person, she still had to pay him respect.
