Chapter 68: Brash Decision

Sat in a dimly lit cavern, Milo trimmed the edges of a small stick before tossing it into a raging fire. He looked across at Marcos, who was now sowing some of the hide he collected, creating new and improved clothing for the two men. 

The Snownote bounced around Milo, constantly tugging at his trousers, as if trying to signal that something was coming. That couldn't be the case though, they had already checked the perimeter and nothing was even close to them at this point. Maybe it was just the Snownotes paranoia from constantly being prey that was alerting his senses. 

It was an unusual situation for Milo, being the predator in these scenarios. He tossed a slab of meat into the fire and watched the smoke rise as the sweet scent filled his nostrils. For some reason, during their walk to the cavern, Marcos hadn't said a word to him. He only exchanged a few nervous glances.
