Chapter 197: Chapter 200: Can a Potions Master Not Toy with a Potions Novice?

Horcrux.

Again, a Horcrux.

Like Voldemort, Peter Pettigrew was obsessed with this grotesque form of immortality. Shockingly, he even made a Hogwarts student into a Horcrux.

When Snape heard the news, he was stunned. "You made Wilson into a Horcrux?"

Even though Snape wasn't fond of Wilson, he was still a living student, an innocent one at that!

This fucker...

How could he do such a thing?

Any wizard with basic knowledge of Horcruxes would know that creating one requires killing a person as a catalyst, making Horcruxes inherently evil.

Yet, Peter went so far as to use a living person, which meant that anyone who wanted to destroy him would have to kill Wilson, an innocent student...

Although...

In the future, if sacrificing Wilson meant stopping Peter, Snape would consider it a necessary action...

But as a teacher...

Even if Wilson wasn't a likeable student, letting him be sacrificed would make Snape feel deeply guilty.

"Isn't becoming a Dark Lord's Horcrux a kind of honor?"

Peter spread his hands, examining Wilson's body. "That kid was raised by Crouch Sr. and has always hated dark wizards. With his personality, he would eventually die at the hands of a Dark Lord..."

The young man couldn't help but smile. "Turning him into my Horcrux may be tormenting him, but I won't kill him. In fact, I'll protect him..."

The young man smiled confidently. "After I deal with Dumbledore, Voldemort, and Grindelwald, maybe I'll even let this prodigy become the Minister of Magic for Britain..."

"You..."

Snape was at a loss for words, his face twisted with anger.

If this had happened to one of the Slytherin students, they might have accepted it. But to a righteous student, it was a fate worse than death.

"Enough."

The young man waved dismissively. "That's all for today, Snape. Go prepare a few Polyjuice Potions that can transform someone into your likeness..."

"What are you planning?"

Snape's expression changed as he tried to figure out what Peter intended to do using his identity. This guy...

What is he planning now?

"Don't ask too much."

The young man calmly shook his head, turning to the table where seven potions were arranged. He casually played with the bottles, speaking slowly, "And don't try anything with the Polyjuice Potion..."

He glanced back at Snape and said quietly, "Pick the potion that will return you to your original state..."

Snape hesitated before selecting a bottle.

Six potions remained on the table. One could pass through black fire, but the others were either poison or useless liquids.

The young man casually grabbed one and drank it without hesitation, showing no concern for whether it was poison.

Snape's eyes locked on him. As the creator of this challenge, Snape knew that the potion the young man chose was poisonous, meant to induce immediate unconsciousness upon consumption.

However...

The young man showed no signs of discomfort.

He even grabbed another potion from the table and drank it in front of Snape, seemingly indifferent to its contents.

Snape's eyes narrowed as he watched the young man consume all six potions, at least three or four of which were poisons...

"Hmm... orange flavor... not bad..."

"This one... is a sedative?"

"And this one... probably just colored water?"

The young man casually commented on the flavors, unfazed by the poisons. His resilience was astounding.

It was a deliberate display of power, meant to warn Snape, a Potions Master, not to tamper with the Polyjuice Potion...

Snape's expression gradually returned to calm.

For a Potions Master, tampering with a potion was easy, though poisoning Polyjuice Potion posed some challenges...

Typically...

Only a small amount is needed to transform into someone, and even a significant dose wouldn't be lethal to someone as resilient as Hagrid.

Perhaps...

He should study poisons more thoroughly.

Snape decided to research all known poisons to see if he could discreetly tamper with the Polyjuice Potion...

As Snape prepared to drink the potion that would return him to his original form, the young man suddenly turned to him. "Wait, Snape. Aren't you curious? I just drank several poisons..."

Snape hesitated before explaining, "It's not surprising for a would-be Dark Lord to have some peculiar methods..."

"Is that so?"

The young man grinned. "But I can't help but think you might have other ways to poison the Polyjuice Potion, being a Potions Master and all..."

Snape was momentarily speechless.

He hadn't even started researching yet; he needed time to find undetectable poisons for the Polyjuice Potion!

"Never mind, let Wilson handle it..."

The young man waved, chuckling. "When I need the Polyjuice Potion, I'll have him come to you. Let him prepare it..."

Snape silently nodded.

This bastard...

He's so paranoid!

Just a small flaw, and he changes his mind!

Of course, this wasn't much of a problem. Though Snape couldn't directly poison the potion, he was a Potions Master, and Wilson was just a novice!

During potion preparation...

Everything would go according to his plan.
