Chapter 48: The Fortune

"Well?" Sebastian boomed, unable to contain his impatience any longer. "What do you see, My Lady? Is he truly the chosen one?"

The Future Witch cast him a withering glance. "Always so impatient, Fire Devil. The future isn't a book you can simply flip through. It's a tangled web, woven with countless threads of possibility. What I see for this boy…" she paused, her gaze flickering back to Alex, "is… potential. Untapped potential, raw and untamed."

Xiomara's words hung heavy in the air. Alex felt a mix of emotions, relief, disappointment, and a surge of determination.

Suddenly, a tremor shook Xiomara's hand. The orb, once faintly glowing, flared with an intense white light. Her eyes squeezed shut, her face contorted in concentration. A gasp escaped her lips.

"Wait, what the hell is this…" she muttered, gripping the orb tighter.
