Chapter 40: Reinforcements arrive and the battle's results

Gresvin took the blows and became increasingly slow, and Silas raised his scimitar once more. It came crashing down, piercing the wind with extreme sharpness.

*Bang!

Gresvin blocked, but to his dismay, he was at his wits' end. His body bent, one knee grounded, but he could not give in. He knew he couldn't keep this up anymore. He had to find an opening, a chance to attack.

Spotting a fleeting vulnerability, Gresvin gambled. He feigned a leftward lunge, then abruptly reversed direction, aiming a vicious slash at Silas's exposed thigh. The maneuver was risky, leaving him momentarily open. But Silas was caught off guard and barely managed to deflect the blow with the flat of his scimitar.
