Chapter 35: Meeting the empress?

 'Where?'

Rose had opened her eyes to a blank space. There was no sign of the imperial princess from the Mongol empire, or the sweet and refreshing scent of flowers. The last thing she remembered was speaking to the imperial princess before seeing tiny droplets of blood right on the white linen before her teacup. Her body suddenly became feverish and weak all over as though she suddenly caught an illness.

Now, she was in this strange place without the presence of another.

''Welcome Rose.''

Startled, Rose almost jumped at the sudden voice from behind her. She swiftly turned her body around and meet the sight of a familiar red-haired lady. Her eyes widened in surprise.

''Empress?'' She voiced out, whispering in disbelief. Why was she seeing the empress's body smiling and speaking to herself all of a sudden? Wasn't she in the empress's body? Did that voice come from her?
