Chapter 3: Another wife and son?
Qing Mianmian and her friends talked for another 30 minutes before she went to class. Mr. Ling was still surprised by her intelligence and even smiled at her and told her to see him later. The students taught she got everything wrong and started whispering and pointing their fingers at her. Qing Mian wasn't interested in their petty talks and went to her seat to prepare for the next test. The girl beside her tapped her table and told her with a sad smile, "I don't know if it's my imagination but I think Mr. Ling is so happy with your test score". Qing Mian turned to look at her and smiled.
" So aloof", the girl muttered under her breath.
Qing Mian didn't hear what she said and continued reading her books, she was still reading when a cold and handsome face appeared in her mind. She blushed and quickly hid her red face inside her books, she has never seen a man as handsome as him.....
"Get ready for the next test", a young lady shouted and Qing Mian came back to her sense. The students grumbled and started clearing their table. Qing Mian took out her assessment books and revised a little.
" Class rep, distribute the papers", the young lady said.
Qing Mian was slower to react and dropped her book when the question got to her. The teacher was angry and told her to stand up for 30 minutes. Qing Mian didn't hear what she said and looked down at the paper with the girl beside her. The teacher was so angry and shouted, "You rascal, can't you hear me?!". Qing Mian got up and looked at the teacher with a dumb expression.
" Sorry, yes?", she said lightly.
"Ma, she's has brain issues, she reacts slowly", a girl said.
" Shut up!, I wasn't talking to you", she said.
The girl was scared and stopped talking.
"Just sit down", she said to Qing Mian.
" You have just 40 minutes to do your work", she said sternly.
Everybody stopped talking and focused on their works. Qing Mian looked at the questions and thought, "Why are they still learning what they taught us in junior year at the orphanage. So boring!" She sighed.
She wasn't narcissistic but she was sure she could finish the questions in 20 minutes.
Qing Mian took out her pen and quickly did the multiple choice questions. She closed her eyes and tried to remember something but the cold man she saw earlier was still in her mind. She shook and her head and started the essay questions. The essay was simpler and she finished earlier than others.
"....you can submit if you are done", the teacher said.
The students gasped when the saw Qing Mian get up.
" She doesn't know anything. Even Lu Rui can't submit early", a girl whispered.
Qing Qin turned to look at Lu Rui and smiled. Lu Rui heard the girl and stood up, he wanted to follow Qing Mian but Qing Qin grabbed his hand. "Do you know her?" She asked.
"Ye...No", he said.
Lu Rui didn't want Qing Qin to know he knows Qing Mian because he knew how jealous she can be but he still had feelings for Qing Mian.
" She's just a country bumpkin ", Qing Qin said angrily
" let's go", Lu Rui said absentmindedly.
Qing Mian went straight to the staff room and knocked the door.
"Come in" a voice came from inside
"Sir?", Qing Mian said with her heads down.
Mr Ling was satisfied with her politeness and smiled.
" Good girl. Which school are you from and why did you transfer to this school?", he asked
"I am from Shengxin Orphanage school", she said.
" I just want to know if you're interested in the Olympiad Mathematics Competition ", Mr. Ling said
" What's that?", she asked innocently.
"It is an external competition where top students from different schools compete"
"Okay sir. I'll think about it"
"Please do and give me a positive answer"
Qing Mian was still surprised because it was the first time she heard of this kind of competition. She was carried away and remained in front of Mr. Ling.
"You can go now", Mr. Ling said.
Qing Mian nodded and left the office with absentmindedly.
" Ling Chaochang, why did you call her"
"Miss Yan, she is my student. Did she do anything to you", Ling Chaochang asked.
"She is disrespectful. I told them to clear their tables but she didn't answer, I even told her to stand up but her classmates said she reacts slowly", she said angrily.
" She reacts slowly yeah"
"She even submitted her papers before everybody, isn't she just too proud", Miss Yan said.
"I think she did that because they are allowed to submit when they are done and she knows.everything already", Ling Chaochang said." Knows everything? Don't tell me she's a genius", Miss Yan snorted
"She is", Ling Chaochang said
" Hmmph", Miss Yan snorted.
Qing Mian rushed to the parking lot "Qing Mian, do you think you're the only one going home? Why are you late?" Qing Qin shouted.
"I'm sorry", she said simply
" Hmmph, let's go uncle", Qing Qin said to the driver.
She saw Lu Rui looking at their car
"Wait! I have something to give my classmate", she said.
" Okay miss", the driver said.
Qing Qin rushed down and went to Lu Rui with a smug face while looking back at Qing Mian.
"Isn't that Lu Rui?", Qing Mian muttered
" I forgot my assessment note", Qing Qin said to Lu Rui.
"Okay", he said and handed the book over to her.
Qing Qin went back to the car and smiled. Qing Mian was taken aback by her smile.
" Do you know Lu Rui?", she asked.Qing Mian
"Yes, we went to the same school at the country side", Qing Mian said.
" I know"
"Why did you ask", Qing Mian muttered.
" I hope you won't take advantage of that and start talking to him", Qing Qin said.
"Why would I do that?", she asked.
" Every new student does.that because he's quite popular", Qing Qin said.
"Huh?"
"Third Master Lu is Miss fiancee", the driver said.
" Ohhh"
"Yes and I hope you'll stay away from him next time", Qing Qin said.
" Sure", she replied with her eyes closed.
.....
"Ah Min, Fengfeng, you guys are back!" an old lady said.
"Yes", Li Min said
" We are back, grandma", Zhou Yanfeng said.
"Good child", the old lady smiled.
" Dad sent his greeting", Zhou Yanfeng said.
"Okay. Tell him to come over when he has the time", she said with a smile.
" I hope Li Min won't get angry this time", he said with a meaningful gaze.
"I just don't want him to be single forever", she sighed.
"Li Min can't be forced to do what he doesn't want to do"
"I know but Xiao Ning is a likable girl and they get along with each other"
"I think he has someone he likes now" Zhou Yanfeng said.
"Who?", Old Madam Li asked
" I'm not sure if he really likes her but she's an high school girl "
"Huh?"
"She...", Zhou Yanfeng wanted.to say something but was interrupted by a lady's voice.
" Brother Min, Brother Feng", a cute voice sounded.
"Xiao Ning, what's up?", Zhou Yanfeng said.
" I'm good"
"Brother....", she wanted to get close with Ah Min but was stopped by his cold glare.
" Where's dad and mum?", he asked.
"Your mum went out with your dad", the old lady said.
" Okay", he sat down lazily and brought out his phone.
"Second Madam and Second Master are back", the butler said.
" Li Min!", a middle aged woman called
"Mum. Dad", Li Min greeted.
" I'm glad you are here", she said.
"We have something important to talk to you about", the old Lady said.
" Li Min, it's high time you took Xiao as your fiancé ", Li Min's.mother said.
" She's a very nice girl and she's the only one that can get close to you", his father said.
"I have a girlfriend", Li Min said simply without looking up.
" What are you doing on your phone ", the old lady asked angrily.
" Chatting with my girlfriend ", he said with a smile.
Xiao Ning was upset and shocked because it was the first time she saw Li Min smile. Zhou Yanfeng was also surprised but he knew who he was talking about.
" Okay. Suit yourself", the old lady said.
Meanwhile at Qing Mian's house
"Ding", her phone rang.
" Sister", a soft voice came from behind Qing Mian. She dropped her phone in her bag and looked down.
The boy ran to Qing Qin and hugged her legs. Qing Mian was surprised because she didn't know she had another brother but she was more surprised when Qing Qin asked, "where's mum?"
"Is there another mum?", she thought
Qing Mian left them and went inside.
" Mianmian, how was school", her 'mum' asked.
"Fine", she said.
" Is this the girl you adopted", a lady said with smirk
"Ding Xian! Mind your speech. This is my daughter", she said.
" Daughter? You have one now?!", she shouted.
"Let's go mum", Qing Mian said.
" Hmph, just you wait!", Ding Xian said.
"Don't mind her", Qin said to Qing Mian.
" Okay", Qing Mian said softly.
"I hope you like the phone", she asked
It was only then that Qing Mian remembered that her phone rang earlier. She took it out and smiled.
" Yes", she said.
"Good girl". She said while rubbing her hair.
" I'll call you when its time for dinner"
"Okay"
Qing Mian switched on her phone and saw two unread message from an unknown number.
"It's me",
"?"
Qing Mian was puzzled and asked, "Who?"
"Li Min...remember?"
"Yes"
"How are you?"
"Fine"
"How was the test?
" Good"
"Okay"
Qing Mian was bored with the short messages. "Have you had dinner", the guy asked again.
" No. What about you"
"No"
"Okay"
"Can we meet tomorrow, I have something to show you"
"Okay"
"Wait, how old are you?", he asked
"17, any problem with that?", she asked.
" No"
"Okay", she said
" Tomorrow then", he said.
"Okay"
Qing Mian was still thinking about the guy when Xue Xi sent a message on the group.
"Princess Mian, how was school?" She asked.
"What about prince charming?" Danyi asked.
"What's his name?", Jiayi asked.
" Hmph"
"Mianmian, tell us everything"
"Okay. School was boring and found out that Lin Rui is my classmate but we didn't talk. I also met Li Min", she said
" So, he's Li Min", Xue Xi said.
"You gave him your number, right? Did he call you?", Jiayi asked.
"He sent me a message and wants us to meet tomorrow", she said.
" Woooooww, so fast!", Xue Xi said.
"Why do I feel like he wants to ask Mianmian out on a date?", Danyi asked
" What if he gives Mian a marriage contract to sign?", Xue Xi asked
"She is still small!", Jiayi said.
" Hmph, so cold. You are always protective of Mianmiam", Xue Xi said.
"Mianmian, what if he really asks you to sign a marriage contract?", Danyi asked.
" Let's wait", she said simply.
"Wait, I saw something else", Jiayi said.
" What?", Xue Xi asked.
"Is Lin Rui really in your class?" Danyi asked.
"Yes and he's also my sister's fiancée", she said.
" Wow, so he actually cheated on you with your sister", Danyi said.
"Yes"
"Scum!" Xue Xi said.
"Xue Xi didn't come to school and I heard your family is relocating. Why didn't you tell us?", Jiayi asked.
" I wanted surprise someone", she said.
"Who? Mianmian?", Jiayi asked.
" Yes, I'll be attending her school when we relocate", she said.
"Sob, why can't we also be with you guys", Danyi asked.
" We'll can still chat and do video calls", Qing Mian said.
"I miss you, D'or", Jiayi said.
"Me too", Qing Mian said.
" I thought we stopped calling her D'or", Xue Xi asked.
"No, young miss Xue", Jiayi said.
" Hahaa, what young miss?. Only God and you guys know I don't behave like a young miss", she said.
"Hahaaaaa"
"Bye. It's time for dinner", Xue Xi said.
" Bye young miss"
"Bye guys"
