Chapter 35: What if I disappoint?

Alisha sat on her bed, a book in her hand. She wasn't even interested in the book in her hand. It was only to distract herself from her own thoughts.

The cold night breeze filled her room due to the open window. The chiffon curtains moved and this caught her attention. Dropping the book, she rose and walked towards the window.

Before she could reach the window, she noticed a figure climbing in. No one needed to tell her who it was. She'd been waiting for him so long that she'd thought he'd given up on her.

She stepped back, allowing him to enter. His movements were graceful, his long legs sliding through the window with ease. He stood up, his red eyes never leaving hers, and brushed off his pants.

Her heart raced as he finally stood before her. Alisha stared at him and she felt the familiar tug of attraction, the one she's been trying hard to bury.
