The Huangmei ancestral worship is a major annual event for the Gu Family, and it takes place on the third day of the first lunar month. On the second day of the first lunar month, members of the Gu Family from Southern Ridge, Hong Kong, and Southern Chu all return to their old home in Huangmei City. For the Gu Family Town in Huangmei, this day is a grand occasion.
The three Gu brothers once left their war-torn homeland behind to seek their fortunes far and wide. Over the years, the family has grown and branched out, forming a large clan. Huangmei is a relatively underdeveloped area in Southern Ridge Province, and the Gu Family has put considerable effort into its development. As a result, the village where their ancestral home is located was renamed by the local government to Gu Family Town, which attests to the Gu Family's influence in Huangmei.
