Chapter 130: An Old Acquaintance Appears?

Alger suddenly found himself at a loss for words. This was very unlike "Miss Fortune", yet also quintessentially "Miss Fortune".

Finally, Alger said thoughtfully, "I'll do my best to help you find a buyer."

Clearly, no one intended to purchase this item with such bizarre side effects. Fors, Audrey and "The World" all expressed that they would keep an eye out as well.

As for Little Sun... Alice hadn't expected anything from him to begin with.

Having resolved this major concern, Alice turned to Derrick and asked, "What exactly did you say to that exploration team's former captain when you returned?"

Derrick glanced at Alice and answered honestly:

"After returning to Silver City, I planned to check my room because of what 'Miss Fortune' had said earlier. Then..."

"Then He suddenly appeared behind you and asked if you were looking for Him?" Alice asked instinctively.

Derrick shook his head and said:

"No. He did suddenly appear behind me, but I turned around and saw Him. Then He said...

'Hee hee hee, I've been found out~'"

Alice repeated in a light tone: "Hee hee hee, I've been found out~"

"Hiss." Audrey drew in a sharp breath, shifting uncomfortably in her chair and moving slightly away from Alice.

Although Little Sun's story wasn't particularly thrilling, Alice's voice acting was uncannily accurate. Recalling the scene from the recent banquet, Audrey suddenly felt immersed in the story.

Fors, on the other hand, felt both terrified and excited, like listening to a scary story as a child - frightened yet unable to resist anticipating what would happen next.

As a bestselling novelist, she had already begun to contemplate how to incorporate this part into her story.

Klein, observing from the gray fog, marveled at Alice's natural talent for imitation. He suddenly felt that perhaps these two had quite an enjoyable time together the other day.

Only the well-informed "Hanged Man" Alger managed to recall what they were discussing and asked:

"Your Silver City doesn't have seals on the dungeons for Out of Control Beyonders? No barriers between them? I remember you mentioning last time that there was a very powerful and miraculous item serving as the core."

"Even if there were, it probably wouldn't help," Alice analyzed seriously. "I have a friend who's very familiar with Amon. Her assessment of Amon is... the strongest below True God level."

"The strongest below True God level..." Alger repeated these words, his eyes filled with shock - the last time he heard Alice give a similar evaluation was for "The Shepherd".

Audrey and Fors also looked at Mr. Fool in astonishment, hoping to get a response from him.

Regrettably, Klein's understanding of Amon also came from Alice, so Mr. Fool simply watched their conversation from within the thick gray fog as usual.

"...But according to what you've said, the one in Silver City should just be one of Amon's avatars, right?" Alger asked Alice for confirmation.

"That's the avatar of the Angel of Time, you know! Do you know why He's called the Angel of Time?" Alice asked dramatically.

"Why?" Alger played along with her performance.

Alice's voice suddenly faltered - yes, why indeed?

...Why?

She couldn't recall the specific scene, but a strange male voice appeared in her memory:

"...That Fate Angel 'Ouroboros' Ulysses among the eight Kings of Angels has targeted me because of you.

"You'll help me escape, won't you?"

Time passed, and she guessed she must have agreed, because she heard the other person continue:

"Once I find a safe place, I'll help you research the kind of food you want... But even if I make it, how will you eat it...

"Don't be angry! Don't be angry, don't rush, I'll figure something out. After all, we have all the time in the world, don't we?"

Who... was speaking?

Alice raised her head, looking dazed. She couldn't remember who the speaker was, but the information contained in those words was still significant.

For instance, that Ulysses was likely another "Snake of Mercury".

The Snake of Mercury that had nearly driven Will Auceptin to desperation.

So... was the other speaker Will Auceptin? Perhaps they had known each other originally?

Even without seeing Will Auceptin's face, the panic revealed in his voice at the end didn't seem feigned - which means, if the speaker was indeed Will Auceptin, then at that time, Will Auceptin was actually afraid of her.

Alice gently closed her eyes.

The puzzle pieces of the past that she could see were almost complete. She was only missing the final piece - the position of the unique "Wheel of Fortune".

No, actually there was still a bit more... For example, what was her personality like before? What was her relationship with Will Auceptin?

Alice chuckled softly, opened her eyes, looked at Alger and shook her head, saying: "Wait a little longer, it's not time yet."

- She still didn't know what the Kings of Angels were.

Alger, of course, wouldn't guess the meaning behind this statement. He cautiously and humbly lowered his head, saying softly: "I understand."

As for those questions he wanted to explore - such as who Alice's "friend" was - he buried them deep in his heart.

The others who hadn't heard an answer were somewhat disappointed. Among them, Fors recovered the quickest, fully utilizing her professional skills to ask:

"Then what? How did you survive? Or how did you escape?"

Alger, who had refocused his attention on Little Sun's story, quickly realized something was amiss:

"Putting you, who only showed early signs of losing control, next to such a dangerous figure doesn't make sense.

"It seems the higher-ups in your Silver City, the members of the 'Council of Six', were deliberately allowing people to come into contact with that person, to see if they could extract more useful information from him and observe his corresponding changes.

"So, which elder saved you?"

Derrick admiringly replied: "Yes, just as you said, the 'Chief' appeared in time and used that miraculous item to deal with the Out of Control Beyonder."

After Derrick expressed his agreement, Alice also looked at Alger in amazement and gave him a couple of claps.

Alger, who had already prepared his words, faltered for a moment upon hearing the applause before saying:

"This isn't something praiseworthy. To make such a judgment, one only needs sufficient experience. I've simply been through more situations than most."

As the "experienced elder", Mr. Fool silently lowered his head.

Regardless, this revised wording did indeed lessen everyone's embarrassment, as they were all well aware of their own lack of experience.
