Chapter 112: - Do They All Like Wearing Monocles?

Alice felt her mouth open wide in astonishment. After a long pause, she hesitantly asked, "Is there no chance of escape at all?"

"Come on!" Alice saw Song Shu's exaggerated expression. "That's Amon we're talking about! The uniqueness of the 'Error' pathway, the first under the true god! Even if there was a chance to escape, it wouldn't be something just anyone could do!"

Alice heard herself continue to ask, "Then how can we attract Amon's interest?"

"Who knows?" Song Shu shrugged. "Besides, even if you could attract the Angel of Time's interest, the Angel of Time might not let you go... After all, he is the God of Mischief, isn't he?"

The scene gradually faded, but Song Shu's last words still echoed in Alice's mind: "Moreover, even if you escape, it might just be one of Amon's tricks..."

Pulling herself out of her memories, Alice looked at Derrick and asked, pursing her lips, "Mr. 'Sun,' are you sure that the team that returned was really the original exploration team?"

This question sent chills down everyone's spine. Finally, the well-informed Alger asked, "If it wasn't the original exploration team, then what was it?"

Alice thought for a moment and then replied, "An exploration team wearing monocles?"

This time, the implied meaning of her words was so strong that even Alger dared not speak further.

It was "Mr. World" who spoke next: "In the Fourth Epoch, about fifteen hundred years ago or even earlier, there was a family that wielded strange powers. They belonged to the Tudor Dynasty, and their surname was Amon."

"Family?" Alice repeated with a strange expression. "Mr. 'World,' could you tell us more about the Amon family?"

"Mr. 'Hanged Man' might know more details," 'World' replied.

Alice then looked at Alger, quietly waiting for his response.

After a moment of silence, Alger organized his thoughts and answered:

"Abraham, Antigonus, Amon, Jacob, Tamara—these are the five great families that supported the establishment of the Tudor Dynasty, second only to the Blood Emperor.

"Among them, the Amon family is the most mysterious, with the least historical records, seemingly twisted and obscured by some force.

"Rumor has it from 'King of the Five Seas' Nast that the Amon family is a family of blasphemers, mastering the secrets of stealing divine powers...

"Also, the Amon family claims to be descendants of the ancient Sun God..."

After a pause, Alger tentatively asked, "Miss 'Destiny,' is the Angel of Time you mentioned an ancestor of the Amon family?"

Alice looked at Alger, hesitated for a moment, and asked, "This Amon family you mentioned... do they all like wearing monocles?"

Alger opened his mouth but couldn't speak, the fear that had just subsided surged back.

Finally, Derrick gathered his courage and found the opportunity to ask the question that had been bothering him: "Miss 'Destiny,' what does 'Son of the Creator' mean? What does 'blasphemer' mean?"

"...I don't know," Alice shook her head. "Or rather, I don't remember."

Seeing Derrick's disappointed look, Alice frowned and continued, "More than that, I'm curious... Since Amon was originally in our world, why did he appear around Silver City? Why did he go to Silver City? Is he curious about the sealed item beneath your Silver City?"

Right, since Amon was in 'Mr. Hanged Man' and 'Miss Destiny's world, why could he appear around our Silver City... Why did he agree to the invitation to be a guest but didn't fulfill his promise... didn't fulfill his promise?!

Derrick was suddenly startled and looked up at Alice, saying, "Miss 'Destiny,' I just remembered something."

"What?" Alice asked.

"The leader of the exploration team told me that they had invited Amon to Silver City as a guest. He agreed after considering it, but when they were near Silver City, he suddenly disappeared..."

"..." Alice was silent for a moment, then looked at Derrick and seriously replied, "Maybe he's already in Silver City? Living right next to you."

Derrick was speechless.

Alice looked at him and sincerely wished, "Mr. 'Sun,' I hope the next time I see you, you won't be wearing a monocle."

This sincere blessing left everyone else in a state of not knowing what to say and not daring to speak. Finally, it was the always calm voice of Mr. Fool that broke the silence: "It seems you have nothing more to say?"

This successfully eased the atmosphere. Except for Alice, everyone realized—yes, their Tarot Club had a true god involved! Judging by Mr. Fool's attitude, there was nothing to fear about this Amon!

This move stabilized their morale. Audrey was the first to recover and raised her hand, saying, "Mr. Fool, I request a private conversation."

After the private conversation ended and Klein finished reading the diary, he leaned back in his chair and smiled, saying, "You may proceed with your free trade."

Having discussed with Klein, Alice gently knocked on the table twice, reminding everyone:

"Ladies and gentlemen, if you encounter someone looking for Mr. Fool's followers or an organization that worships Mr. Fool in the near future, don't panic. Just remember to report to Mr. Fool."

"Does this have anything to do with you, Miss 'Destiny'?" Fors was the first to ask, and Audrey and Alger also looked at Alice with interest.

Alice raised an eyebrow and chuckled, "This is Mr. Fool's test."

Audrey and Alger quickly restrained their curiosity, while only Fors continued to ponder what Mr. Fool's test had to do with Miss 'Destiny.'

...But who is this test for?

No one asked the question out loud. Fors took a deep breath and stated her request: "I want to purchase the stomach of a glutton and 20 milliliters of deep-sea tuna blood, paying in gold pounds."

This was clearly unrelated to Alice, who leaned back in her chair, waiting for others to speak.

Listening to Mr. 'Hanged Man' subtly flaunt his credentials and suggest that Miss 'Magician' consider obtaining materials from Backlund, Alice thought that Miss 'Magician' must be feeling quite complicated now.

Finally, after Little Sun requested the formula for the 'Sun Priest' potion, Fors had to thicken her skin and sincerely asked:

"Everyone, do you have any good ways to make money?"

In the ensuing silence, Alice asked, "Miss 'Magician,' have you heard this saying?"

"What?" Fors suddenly had a bad feeling.

Alice tilted her head and modified a classic saying:

"All ways to make money are written in the law."
