Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Just a prank bro

Obito Uchiha finally snagged the opportunity to walk home from the Ninja Academy with his childhood crush, Rin Nohara. Typically, Kakashi Hatake, the prodigy of the White Fang, would be with them. However, having graduated early, he no longer graced the Academy halls.

Obito harbored no fondness for Kakashi. The boy was a bully, constantly tricking Obito and flaunting his superiority.

"So, Rin," Obito offered, his cheeks flushing as he addressed the pretty girl, "how about some kunai practice today?" Unlike him, who hailed from the prestigious Uchiha clan, Rin was a civilian. Yet, because Obito wasn't as gifted as the other Uchihas, everyone, except for Rin, treated him with disdain. That's why he held a soft spot for her. Not only was she adorable, but she was also a talented student.

"Um~! Sounds good!" Rin chirped in agreement. "We need to catch up to Kakashi, after all."

"Catch up? With this dolt? Impossible," a voice mocked, interrupting their conversation. Kakashi suddenly materialized beside them.

"Hey! You graduated already, so leave us alone!" Obito shot back.

Kakashi nonchalantly shrugged. "True, but I was thinking of treating you both – since you're with Rin – to some dango for my early graduation..."

"What are you talking about, my friend? You're practically one of us!" Obito exclaimed, throwing an arm around Kakashi's shoulder in a display of camaraderie. "Let's go!"

Rin and Kakashi exchanged exasperated glances before the trio reached the dango shop.

"Here you go," the dango vendor chirped, handing plates to Kakashi and Rin.

But then, for some inexplicable reason, Obito swatted the plate out of Kakashi's grasp.

Crack!

The plate shattered, scattering dirty dango across the ground.

Kakashi, "…"

"I-I have no idea how that happened..." Obito stammered, stumbling back.

He had no idea why his hands just moved on their own but then another sickening crack resonated – the sound of another plate breaking. He instinctively reached out, his hand landing on something soft.

"An~!"

Slowly turning around, Obito found Rin, her face flushed crimson, and his hand resting inappropriately on her chest.

"Eek!" Obito yelped, his entire body trembling with a mixture of shock and embarrassment. Not only had he broken Kakashi's dango, but he'd also groped Rin. Now, faced with a fuming Kakashi and a mortified Rin, he stammered, "G-Guys... I can explain..."

Obito's stammered explanation was cut short by a well-deserved, 360-degree beat down.

"Pff! This is divine!" Hiding in a corner, Yami snickered before he dispelled the Shadow Imitation Technique. He had trained his Shadow Binding Technique to the point where he could now control the actions of others. However, Yami needed some targets to practice on.

He initially wanted to try it on some other kids around his house, but he risked being caught by Yamanaka or Akimichi members. Therefore, he opted for someone outside these clans. He also couldn't just use it on ordinary people as they lacked chakra, so he decided to target members of major clans, specifically choosing the Uchiha.

They were gloomy and always serious. Moreover, people in Konoha disliked them due to Madara Uchiha's betrayal and their shameless monopolization of Konoha's police force.

Yami didn't particularly like anyone from the series. Obito was an idiot who started the biggest war over a girl; another hypocritical guy massacred his own people; and then there was the emo guy who had a love-hate relationship with a blond-haired friend.

So why not mess with them? Let's see how these red-eyed dudes would resist Yami's shadow possession

"Just find the perfect target," Yami grinned when his eyes fell on another Uchiha at the nearby Ichiraku Ramen. He was quite young, around the same age as Yami, but hey, a little prank wouldn't harm anyone. "Just a prank, bro."

Shisui Uchiha had finally gathered his pocket money to enjoy a full bowl of beef and egg ramen. He hadn't eaten since last night and was famished. Now, he would truly savor the ramen.

"Here you go, little guy," Teuchi Ichiraku placed a full bowl of ramen before Shisui.

The rich aroma of beef and seasoned soup overwhelmed Shisui. Eager to eat, he picked up the chopsticks and cheered, "Thanks for the food~!"

Then, inexplicably, his hands acted on their own. Instead of eating the noodles, he grabbed the bowl, lifted it above his head, and poured all the ramen on himself.

"…" Shisui's eyes flickered with shock, bewildered as to what he had just done.

"Y-young man, everything alright?" Teuchi inquired, his concern laced with a hint of befuddlement. Perhaps it was a new ninja technique, some unorthodox way to consume food.

However, Shisui remained stunned before his eyes started turning red. He realized that some external force had controlled him.

Shisui immediately jumped from his seat and looked around. There, he found someone around his age hiding behind a wall. Shisui rushed towards that spot but found no one, only a piece of paper that read, "Don't waste food, idiot Uchiha," with a poop drawing at the end.

"Grr!" Shisui gritted his teeth and roared, "I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!"

"Sigh. Youngsters these days so casually waste food when the whole village is low on cash," Yami passed a helpless smile and shook his head. "Shit, I just hope I will not be changing the timeline…"

Though he intended to mess with some Uchihas, he ended up pranking Obito Uchiha, who would later become the prime protagonist. He did not know much about the other Uchiha kid, probably just a minor character.

"Look, it is that scum."

"Yeah, because of this man, our village lost so much supply."

"My children are starving because of this trash."

"Hmph. It seems the White Fang's fangs are duller than we thought."

"The Hidden Leaf is in shambles, and all because one arrogant Jonin could not complete an important mission."

At that moment, people in the alleyway started gossiping loudly, and their target was a tired middle-aged man with silver hair and a big, strong physique. From his attire, he appeared to be a high-ranking Jonin. He resembled an older, unmasked Kakashi.

"Japanese people are really ruthless when it comes to ostracizing someone if they get the chance…" Yami shook his head, disappointed in the village's mentality.

He did not care much about the great loss this old man caused, but people were just cursing him without even knowing the full story. Yami was well aware of this kind of mentality among Japanese people in a closed society. If someone were to stumble, they would rather curse him so that he would leave the society rather than helping him stand up with the risk of falling with him.

"This man… he looks like my grandfather…" Yami muttered as he watched the back of the silver-haired old man.

His grandfather was also considered a fool by Yami's father. Yami's father wanted to use their family land to develop a resort, but his grandfather disagreed, still holding onto the Dogo he had spent his life with. Yami's father then started spreading rumors about his grandfather, trying to shun the old man, but Yami protested against it. However, it was too late as his grandfather ended his own life right before Yami's eyes.

"How pitiful… this man is just too pitiful," Yami sighed. He could guess what this old man's next move would be.

It was at that moment, something crossed Yami's mind. "Right, I know the best way to combat depression!"

He immediately darted straight to his home, but not before gathering the spiciest chilies in the village.

"Mommy!" Yami yelled while holding the bag full of ingredients he needed.

"What is it, sweetheart?" Aoi appeared from the room.

"Prepare the kitchen as today, I am going to introduce the true weapon to cure depression, the ultimate symbol of Mexico," Yami grinned. "We are making tacos!"
