The Real Tide of the Dead is Coming

Before Henry could respond, John continued, "Intelligence indicates that a massive horde of zombies is rapidly approaching from the north!"

"It's expected to reach here in three days!"

"The number of zombies in this horde far exceeds those currently on this playground!"

"Our drones have scouted and found that there are dozens of giant zombies alone!"

"Plus hundreds, if not thousands, of Crawlers and Venomous Creature Breeders!"

"The preliminary estimate for ordinary zombies is over one hundred thousand!"

"Such a large-scale tide of the dead is not something any individual or camp can withstand!"

"By that time, the survivors here will likely all be trapped and perish!"

"We've already gathered all the survivors willing to leave with us along the way!"

"I suggest you join us and head south!"

"There's a military base there!"

"We can use it as a stronghold to fend off the horde!" John said seriously.

"Thank you for the invitation, but I prefer to stay here," Henry replied without hesitation, politely declining.

A zombie horde? He was just worried about not finding enough zombies to fight!

In the apocalypse, if you don't actively strive to become stronger, you'll eventually be eliminated.

Anyway, with his current strength, even if he can't defeat the horde, escaping wouldn't be a problem.

If I leave now, wouldn't I be missing out on a perfect opportunity to enhance my own strength?!

John glanced at Clarissa, who looked worried. This man may be strong enough to survive, but Clarissa definitely does not have that kind of strength... I absolutely cannot let my sister risk her life with this man! Now that our parents are gone, I must ensure my sister's safety.

John gently shook his head and continued to persuade, "I know you are highly skilled!"

"But surviving alone in this apocalypse is still too dangerous!"

"There, under the protection of our military, there's ample food, water, and an ecological recycling system!"

"We can only survive this harsh apocalypse by sticking together and keeping each other warm!"

"And you know... the real test begins in twenty-four days..." John reminded.

"Actually, just as you said," Henry responded, "in such a harsh apocalypse, running away is not the best solution!"

"Only by continuously getting stronger and adapting to the harsh environment can we survive!"

"If a mere zombie horde can drive me away..."

"How can I face the even more severe tests that come after twenty-four days?!" Henry's words were emphatic and deeply impacted John.

Indeed... If one cannot withstand a horde of a hundred thousand zombies, how can one face the monumental changes after twenty-four days?!

Normally, if such words came from an ordinary person, John would just scoff. Who can't boast?!

But coming from Henry, John felt a vague sense... Henry was speaking the truth! He actually plans to intercept the horde, and even has the capability to stop it!

John was startled by his own sudden thought. One person intercepting a zombie horde? It's unimaginable!

"People have their own aspirations, John. Let's part ways here," Henry said, gesturing with a hand fold towards John, who understood that he was being dismissed.

"If that's the case, then let's hope we meet again," John replied. "Let's go, Clarissa!"

"Henry..." Clarissa looked at Henry pitifully, her eyes full of reluctance.

Henry turned his head away. Facing a horde of hundreds of thousands of zombies, even with all his might, he couldn't guarantee victory. How could he possibly spare the strength to keep Clarissa safe by his side? It would be safer for her to go to the military base with her brother. At least with John's special ops team there, her safety would not be an issue.

"Come on, Clarissa, let's go," John said softly. "With Henry's strength... he'll definitely survive the apocalypse! I believe we'll meet again."

"Henry! You must survive!" Clarissa, pulled along by John, suddenly turned back and shouted at Henry, her eyes shining. She hoped Henry would change his mind and leave with her, or perhaps she could stay and fight alongside him.

But Henry just silently waved his hand, then slowly turned away...

"Alright, Clarissa, let's go!" Lane said, linking arms with Clarissa and smiling. "We often hear your brother mention you, but I didn't expect you to be so beautiful..."

At the same time, she sneakily followed Clarissa's gaze towards Henry, feeling that this man was somehow different. She replayed in her mind the moment Henry had used a katana to block a bullet. This man could block a bullet meant for her? She was somewhat fixated on this.

"Alright, let's get moving!" John declared. "Let's settle into the military base and prepare our defenses. There's a big battle in 24 days!"

"Yes!" the team members responded in unison. They then automatically formed a line and marched neatly towards the campus exit, leaving behind the field littered with zombie corpses and readily accessible Energy Cores.

He didn't even spare it a second glance!

Henry silently stood in place, watching as the team moved further and further away. It wasn't until they completely disappeared from sight that he turned his attention back to the field littered with zombie corpses.

"It's time to harvest!" Henry said, as he tied up the person he had captured to a tree, then began to collect.

Perhaps there really weren't any other survivors nearby the school, or maybe the display of blocking a bullet had shocked any nearby survivors into staying away. Whatever the reason, no other survivors appeared.

The playground was full of zombie corpses. Henry, alone, spent over an hour collecting before he finished.

Ding, collection successful! Congratulations, you have obtained:

- Energy Cores *5320 + 1064 (energy evolution talent bonus)

- Accelerated Fertilizer *120*

- Evolver Blood *22

- Durable Leather *66

- Sharp Claws *36*

- Corrosive Liquid *5*

- Corrosion-Resistant Leather *10...

After finishing the collection from ordinary zombies and Crawler type II infected zombies, Henry finally turned his attention to the Behemoth lying nearby.

The zombie loot box is now open!

The higher the tier of the zombie, the rarer the materials obtained from harvesting.
