Chapter 169: Right Through Me

"Make sure to send Luca with them for security." Miles grumbles.

"Already on it, dear." Arlo says, tapping on the phone screen.

Baby Reign is napping. On the table near me is a baby monitor. The red lights flicker and the baby wails come through the little speakers. Arlo jumps before I can.

"I'll go." He says, tucking the phone away. "I haven't seen the baby all day. I want to spend a few minutes with him."

"But I just sat down with you." Miles scowls.

Arlo smiles affectionately. He hands Miles his half-eaten apple. "I know, but I've spent most of the day with you, working. You're gonna have to learn to share me, dear husband."

"But I don't want to share you." Miles scowls.

Arlo leans down and presses a kiss on Miles' lips, which seems to catch him by surprise. Miles looks a little twitterpated when Arlo pulls away. "I'll be back before you know it." Arlo says then hurries off the room.
