Chapter 18: Chapter 18 - Reward?

The monster turned around, already protecting its head. The beast got confused since Jason was nowhere to be seen… until the monster felt a large impact on its right knee, followed by a powerful wave of pain.

The beast flinched and then moved its arms only to see Jason using Double Slash in a quick succession on the wound of the right knee. Blood began to gush from the wound like crazy… but the monster still swung down both arms to smash Jason to pieces. Still, he jumped backward just enough to escape the attack for a couple of centimeters.

Jason smiled in satisfaction, but he felt that those paper-thin margin dodges were taking from his lifespan. Jason turned the ax back from his knife, and the monster tried to get up and attack him, but then the wound got bigger, and a bunch more blood gushed from the wound, and the beast fell on its knee. It seemed that Jason caused some serious damage faster than he had expected.

"He still has over fourteen hundred HP… but that part of his body suffered a lot of damage already," Jason thought. "In the first place, a knee isn't supposed to have that much flesh or muscles."

Jason smiled and pointed an arrow toward the wound. Still, then the monster blocked the wound with both hands, only for Jason to end up firing an arrow and piercing one of the eyes of the beast… thinking it really wasn't one of the best skills of a monster.

"HHHAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

The monster shouted in anger, but that was useless; its defeat was already determined. Still, the monster had one option left. It pointed its hand toward Jason, and in the next moment, he was surrounded by twenty gray giants.

"What the fuck…" Jason opened his eyes widely.

Jason escaped by transforming his weapon into an ax and then using Charge. His power reached a point where he knocked down one of the enemies before all of the others could attack him at the same time.

After turning around, Jason bombarded the monsters' faces with Fireballs, making them flinch. Then, he swung down the ax on their faces. While he was getting some experience, that was a waste of time since the boss would be almost completely healed in ninety seconds.

"I guess I will have to accept some risks…" Jason thought.

Jason only killed half of the enemies when he turned around and then used Charge on the boss. The beast was surprised to see Jason returning and even more so when he swung down the ax on its face. The beast blocked the attack with both arms, but then Jason changed the weapon to the spear and trusted toward the beast's wounded eye. The weapon pierced it, but the monster stopped the attack with both hands while grabbing the spear. Still, things didn't end there.

The gray giants charged all at once toward Jason, but he ignored them and kept using Fireball and Mana Arrow on the monster's wounded eye. Each attack caused critical damage, and the beast's HP was depleted in the blink of an eye.

Jason didn't have time to celebrate since two of the gray giants hit him in the back and made him collide against the boss… he felt like his back had been hit by a truck and groaned in pain. He had imagined that they would disappear when their master vanished. Still, it was because Jason was stupid… he forgot about the fact that he killed the boss of the trolls first and then the trolls later.

Those two attacks alone made him lose half of his health, but Jason quickly turned around while turning his spear into the shield. The enemies kept attacking him, but he blocked the attacks and halved the damage… until he used some points to increase his spirit and then bombard all of them with Fireballs.

The attacks pushed back the enemies, and their newfound power made them flinch. Thanks to that, Jason had enough time to use his bow, bombard their faces with Mana Arrows, and finish them off.

(Congratulations! For eliminating all the enemies of another tribe on your planet, the title Merciless Hunter rank went up from (F) to (E).  Jason sighed in relief and then fell to the ground. He was exhausted and hungry. All the adrenaline vanished just like that, so he regretted acting a little like a power-hungry freak. In any case, he soon got up since being surrounded by corpses wasn't pleasant.

"Let's see if there is a treasure box here as well…" Jason thought while looking around.
