MSG – Volume 1 – Chapter 16
Rowena dragged Solon all around the beach party, enabling him to join her in partaking in all that it had to offer.
He could not deny that this weekly get-together of everyone from the organization was like a breath of fresh air for him.
Like the women, it was a time for him to shed all that usually bogged him down every other day.
As for how he came to be one of the male members (which could be counted on the fingers of one hand) of this glaringly female-oriented group, we would have to take a wee trek back to about two and a half months ago.
At this time, he had already left the Demon Realm and found a new body to inhabit.
No, he did not rob any living person of their body.
Yes, it was the same age-old cliché in which some wandering soul takes control of the body of someone that had just lost their life, and takes their place, living on as them.
Yeah, that doesn't sound any better now that I think about it.
In fact, it might be worse.
Imagine seeing your loved one's face but the person inside isn't the same loved one you had always known?
Eek!
Anyway, someone had murdered the entirety of a certain Baron family and the King dispatched forces to investigate and track down those responsible.
Aside from that, they were supposed to bring in the only living thing that was said to have managed to somehow survive the attack.
That's right, our dear protagonist was brought to stand before the king of the Carrot Kingdom on the same day that he opened his eyes in a new body.
'Sigh. The last time I obtained a 'new' body, I was captured an escorted back to a place where I would be 'handled'.' He thought as he warily observed his escorts that were clad in armor and fitted with either weapons or magical tools like wands and amulets. 'Now, something similar is happening again. I wonder how I would be 'handled' this time.'
Soon, he was brought before a man with a crown that seemed oddly unremarkable at first glance but was actually a real treasure capable of granting its wearer unreasonable quirks.
He was thoroughly questioned before the King about what he remembered about the happenings that led to the demise of the family, as every detail was important and could be a clue, but what could he do when he could not 'remember'?
Unlike was the case with the White Knight, he did not inherit any memories upon nesting in this individual's body whom as luck would have it was also called… Solon.
That was three times in a row now.
His first life in his previous world, the second iteration as a White Knight in the fantasy world, and now his third time as the only survivor of a great massacre.
All of them bore the same name.
Even as he tried his best to keep up his 'amnesia' act before the King and the others who were present, he still had the time to have a dumb and somewhat worrisome thought;
'If this trend continues… does that mean that as long as there is some other 'Solon' out there, then I will just keep on transmigrating every time I die?'
Eventually, it was concluded that he had had a trauma upon witnessing the events that had occurred to the Darlaston Family… his third iteration's family.
What to do with him?
That was the next item on the agenda.
He was 19 years old, of age to succeed his late father's position, but with his amnesia the thought of inheritance would have to be shelved at least for the short term.
Besides, with every living being under the banner of said family—maids, guars, subjects, and so on—being subjected to autopsies, there was no one for him to lead even if he was to be in his right state of mind.
As for taking up leadership of the territory? A competent person was appointed by the King to temporarily assume the position of Territory Lord.
So…
The obvious, and best, thing to do was to find any surviving relatives that may take him in and care for him.
And that was precisely what happened.
Before long, one of the wives of a certain publicly acclaimed righteous Count Rafflesia, appeared in the Royal Palace.
Upon seeing 'Solon' she could not help but run over to him and wordlessly hug him tightly, sobbing, and not caring for the presence of others.
When she found out that one of her favorite cousin's children had lost his memory, she was half unhappy that all the fond memories they shared had been wiped away but on the other hand she felt it was for the best that he did not remember what had happened to his family.
Some words were exchanged between the orange-haired woman who had suddenly unilaterally insisted that he was now her son, and the Royal Majesties, the King and Queen.
The mother and son pair left the palace in a glaringly expensive horse-drawn carriage towards the Rafflesia Earldom.
Soon, he would start reliving memories of his time in the torture chamber and he would wake up time and time again to be consoled by an understanding mother that assumed his 'nightmares' were related to the demise of his parents and loved ones.

Anyway, you are probably wondering where the female beside him with the misleadingly cute appearance beside him fits into the picture.
Well, supposedly she was the Grand Court Mage of the Carrot Kingdom.
Forced by the King to use an item and take on the appearance of an old man with a long white beard, she was present during his interrogation.
She had offered to 'escort' the carriage until it safely arrived at its destination since whoever was responsible for that decisively gruesome incident may have caught wind of a possible 'witness' existing and may come over to finish the job.
There is a whole story about how the Grand Court Mage and the Amnesic Survivor quickly came close enough for him to be invited into her organization, but that's a story for another day.
Right now, all he could do was try out the smoothie that the Matron (Grand Court Mage) had made herself.
"Pah!" he immediately spat out the coconut-cup's contents. "Ugh!"
'Tastes like gravel!'
'Don't ask me how I know what that tastes like…'
