Chapter 15: I Met A Powerful Loli
MSG – Volume 1 – Chapter 15
"So, you arrived and did not bother greeting me, your host?" A soft and sweet voice reached the ears of the trio even with the loud music, causing them to turn and look in a certain direction.
The two women immediately stopped playing around and bowed slightly and greeted the owner of the voice's owner.
"Matron!"
Solon casually turned to look at the voice's source as well.
There stood someone that the word 'cute' was insufficient to describe.
She had a heart-shaped face and twin maroon pigtails tied up with baby blue ribbons.
She had beige colored skin and a pair of soul-reaching amber eyes.
Her hair was soft and long, reaching a few inches to her waist even when tied up because she was about 4 feet and 7 inches tall.
With her petite frame, white frilly dress, and knee-high socks of the same color, she was quite the sight for sore eyes.
Anyone's heat would melt upon seeing this 'child' walking around the beach with socks because it was difficult to imagine that she was actually old enough to have grandchildren.
Yes, in simple terms, she was a loli.
This cutie radiated a 'the life of the party' aura of energy and joy, a personality that went well with the meaning of her name.
"Hello there, Rowena." He greeted her casually, not bowing like the others, but simply nodding at her as a greeting.
"Hihi!" she giggled. "Kyaa! Licht! I missed you!"
Yeah, his efforts did not work…. For the umpteenth time.
Instead of responding like someone of her station and age, she simply sprinted forward and tackled him with a hug.
Somehow, even with Solon being physically strong enough to punch holes into concrete walls and dodge the impromptu claw strike of a winged charm demon (the incubus), he was helplessly brought down to the sandy ground.
He knew what was to come and yet despite conscious efforts, he was unable to either push her back or dodge in time.
Inwardly he pitied her enemies who would underestimate her because of her 'frail' size. Let's not even bring up the topic of how women are undermined and underestimated.
Despite there being three goddesses standing by the side of the three known gods, nothing is said about how there has never been a single female Tower Master before.
'Astraea said that the goddesses are equally as powerful as the gods and yet they simply watch on.' He thought. 'Do they really not care that much?'
"Ah! Squee! There's that face I love so much!" her voice broke him out of his inner reverie. "When you stare off into space like that, you somehow manage to look more precious!"
The 'precious' was said with more of a mouth chewing way like 'pweshoos' or something like that.
As he regained focus, he suddenly felt her pulling on his cheeks.
He could only smile helplessly and wait for her to get off him of her own accord, since he felt like a mountain was looming over him.
Soon, she got her fill of teasing him and got off him.
Before standing up, he noticed a strange sight, one that he should have gotten used to by now but hadn't, in which the soles of her socks were still entirely clean and mint despite all the sand she was stepping on—which did not make sense.
Sighing inwardly at all the things he had witnessed this woman do, he found her existence to be strange.
Well, it's not like he had not met powerful beings before.
Heck, he had met a freaking goddess!
However, for all intents and purposes, Rowena is a mortal while those people leading the demons could hardly be considered as such.
After all, each of Astraea's Generals alone were powerful enough to single-handedly match an army anywhere between 600 and 700 Legend rank beings with the mightiest amongst them matching 800.
The original Solon, who had managed to combat and fell two such beings, could be said to be a monster amongst Legend ranks.
Under the Tower Masters that were considered Demigods, he was supposedly amongst the three most powerful beings on the human side of the war; those who were in 'Limbo'.
They had managed to somehow cross the peak of the Legend rank but were unable to finally reach the Demigod rank, waiting to receive the approval of a God or Goddess to 'ascend' into a Demigod.
Heh, in the end, rather than being approved as he expected and deserved, he got the opposite.

"Hey! Ettie! Harley!" she turned her attention to the lamia sisters. "I hear you brought some nice munchies! Do you still have some?"
"We do." (Harley)
"Yes, Matron." (Ettie)
Both sisters answered simultaneously with fanged smiles on their faces.
"Sweet!!" the matron jumped up and down, seemingly excited. "Get me and this pie some of that!"
As she said the word 'pie', she was pointing her right index finger at Solon.
Soon, the siblings came back with two wooden hemispherical plates, each handing one to either Rowena or Solon.
"Thankies!!" The matron flashed Harley a smile before she looked into the bowl plate with starry eyes and dipping her hand inside, flicking one of the Candlenuts into the air, which she caught with her mouth.
"Thank you." Solon on the other hand smiled at Ettie as he received his. Before looking down into the plate.
Its contents were small golden brown nuts with a soft buttery texture and mild nutty flavor.
They were arranged in a neat pile, their smooth surface glistening in the light. There were also some leaves and sprigs of fresh herbs added in.
The aroma of these nuts is warm and inviting, with hints if subtle sweetness and nutmeg.
As he lifted one up to his nose, the scent was even more pronounced, filling his senses with a comforting, homely smell.
"Oh…." He could not help but inhale and exhale in anticipation as he opened his mouth and tossed that golden brown bead into his mouth.

A/N: Well, damn! Just writing about it made me want to try some!
Ah, if I wasn't stuck in college and already had a high-paying job, I would not mind flying all the way to Hawaii to try these nuts out.
