Chapter 33: A Job Well Done (Please Collect and Recommend)

In a corner of the Hufflepuff common room, Cedric was looking at the enthusiastic new students from afar with a look of astonishment.

He couldn't understand what was wrong with this year's freshmen. Couldn't they tell that Kyle was making things up? Why were they so cooperative?

This was Hufflepuff, not Ravenclaw.

Cedric didn't know what the others were thinking, but if he had been in the hospital wing, he definitely wouldn't have wanted any class notes or homework.

Especially homework.

Good grief, treating homework as a gift… could a normal wizard think of that? Even Voldemort wouldn't be so cruel.

Cedric's conscience told him that he should expose Kyle and save the innocent Mickel.

But he couldn't do it.

Because, in a way, Kyle's words made the Hufflepuff Badgers more attentive in class.

This was undeniably a good thing.

Cedric agonized for a long time.

In the past twelve years, he had never faced such a difficult choice. On one hand, there was his conscience. On the other, there was his responsibility as a prefect. He didn't want to give up either one. He could only keep bouncing between the two.

Not far from Cedric, Kanna was also lost in her confusion. She was the only new student who could remain clear-headed.

Unlike Cedric, Kanna's thoughts were much simpler.

She had to stay away from Kyle, no matter what!

Kanna secretly swore to herself that after she got the special rat tonic, she would stay far, far away from Kyle. Even if she couldn't transfer to another house, she would avoid any possible encounters.

Right, and she would also choose the seat furthest from Kyle in class.

On the other side, the badgers, bursting with a sense of mission, were still discussing their specific plans. Kyle, having achieved his mission, quietly squeezed out of the crowd.

Everyone's attention was on what they were going to do next. He, the tool man, naturally wouldn't be the center of attention anymore.

Kyle found an empty sofa away from the crowd and sat down. He opened the book, "The Wandering Wizard of the Wind".

This was a book published fifty years ago, telling about a wandering wizard's adventures and the troubles he encountered.

The style was similar to Lockhart's work. But the difference was that the book only used a few lines to describe the wandering wizard himself. The focus was mainly on the things he saw.

It recorded many spells with distinct regional characteristics, giving Kyle a fresh perspective.

He continued reading until noon. Cedric came to call him for lunch. Only then did Kyle reluctantly close the book.

"What are you reading?" Cedric asked curiously, "I called you several times, but you didn't respond."

"The Wandering Wizard of the Wind." Kyle handed the book to Cedric, "Dumbledore recommended it. It's a very interesting biography."

"Recommended by the Headmaster?"

Cedric's eyes lit up. He immediately said he wanted to read it too.

"No problem, but I've just started reading. You have to wait a few days." Kyle thought for a moment, "Or you can go to the library and ask if they have any extras."

"No need." Cedric returned the book to Kyle and shook his head, "Just tell me when you're finished. I'll borrow it then."

He knew the school library well. There were rarely two copies of the same biography. Going there would be a waste of time.

Besides, he was just interested. He didn't have to read it right now. It didn't matter if it was a few days earlier or later.

After leaving the Hufflepuff common room, they quickly arrived at the Great Hall.

After a morning, the news that a Hufflepuff student had blown up the Charms classroom had already spread throughout Hogwarts.

In the Great Hall, almost all the students were excitedly discussing the topic.

"Hey, look who's here!"

As soon as Kyle walked through the door of the Great Hall, he was stopped by Fred and George, who had been waiting for him.

"I knew it. Hogwarts will never be peaceful with you here. As expected." Fred hooked his arm around Kyle's shoulder, "Tell us, how did you blow up the classroom?"

George also said from the side, "Yeah, we heard about it. Even Professor Flitwick left the classroom limping."

"Blowing up a professor's class on the first day…" Fred and George exchanged a look and said in unison, "Kyle, you're going to be in the school's history books!"

The twins' voices weren't small. They quickly attracted the attention of other students. More and more people started to gather around, intentionally or unintentionally.

This made Kyle speechless. He said helplessly, "First of all, the Lumos Charm can't blow up a classroom. That's common sense. Professor Flitwick just tripped and hurt his leg.

Secondly, the student who caused all this is in the hospital wing. It has nothing to do with me. If you slander me again, I'm going to write to Mrs. Weasley."

"Not you?"

The twins were simultaneously stunned. This result was different from what they had expected.

"Of course not. Why would you think that?" Kyle pointed to Cedric, who was standing next to him. "If you don't believe me, you can ask Cedric."

"I can testify. It wasn't Kyle." Cedric quickly nodded.

"You heard him." Kyle pushed the two of them aside, "By the way, where did you get this news from? It's so unreliable."

"We heard it from the Ravenclaw freshman." Fred shrugged, "They said you sent your classmate to the hospital wing."

Kyle was even more speechless after hearing this. He immediately said, "I was helping, okay? Professor Dumbledore even gave me twenty points. By the way, did they say anything else? Is that all they said?"

"I don't know." George spread his hands and said matter-of-factly, "We overheard it as we walked by."

"I…."

Kyle took a deep breath. He didn't want to talk to these two anymore.

He had originally thought that a Ravenclaw had produced a talent for taking things out of context. But it turned out that the real talent was Fred and George.

At least, they came to him directly. They didn't spread it around. Otherwise, his hard-earned reputation would be destroyed.

Kyle sighed, patted the two on the shoulder, and said, "You guys are a waste of talent at Hogwarts. You should go work at the Daily Prophet. Rita Skeeter would love you guys."
