Chapter 152: Vile Woman

Fiona stared at the check, the large sum doing nothing to comfort her. It felt like blood money. Her hands trembled as she took it, her heart breaking with every passing second. She couldn't think straight, her thoughts a chaotic mess of fear, guilt, and sorrow.

She had no choice. Harriet had made sure of that.

"Okay," Fiona finally whispered, her voice hollow. "I'll leave."

Harriet's expression remained cold as she nodded in satisfaction. "Good. You can leave your car here and take a cab. The sooner you're gone, the better."

Fiona nodded numbly, feeling as though she were moving through a nightmare she couldn't wake up from.

She turned but before she could leave the parlor, Harriet stopped her. "There's one more thing I need you to do," Harriet said, handing her a piece of paper and telling her what to do.
