Later that evening, after Fiona had returned from the hospital, she felt the weight of her concerns and struggle bearing down on her.
She needed someone to talk to, to tell all about her growing feelings towards Liam and her reservations because of his mother. She needed someone who could offer her considering words that would help untie this knot in her heart and who else could that be if not her best friend?
She thought and without wasting any more time thinking about it, she dialed Elena's number. As she waited for her to take the call, Fiona took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts and prepare herself for the conversation ahead.
On the other end of the line, Elena, who had been in bed with Phil picked up her phone when it started ringing.
When she saw that it was Fiona, she turned to Phil, "It's my friend, Fiona. I have to take this," she said and Phil gave her a curt nod before rolling over onto his side of the bed.
