Maven stood at the entrance of the Enchanted Labyrinth, her single crimson tail swishing nervously behind her. The massive, ivy-covered stone archway loomed before her, the entrance almost seeming to pulse with a life of its own. She could feel the ancient magic that infused the labyrinth, as if the walls themselves were alive and watching her.

Beside her, Blakely leaned sleepily on her shoulder, her long, pale green hair fading into lavender tips, a clear sign of her transformed state after the veil broke. Blakely's eyes were half-closed, already half-asleep despite the situation. "Maven," Blakely mumbled, her voice a soft, drowsy drawl, "why does everything have to be so... labyrinth-y?"

Maven sighed, patting her girlfriend's head gently. "Because it's the Trial of Wisdom, Blakely. It's not supposed to be easy."
