Chapter 6: Goku realises he's a boy
It's the next day, hours after the wish that turned Goku into a little boy. Goku's stomach growls, waking him up.
"Oh, I'm so hungry," Goku yawns.
After looking around, Goku doesn't recognize the room he wakes up in.
"Oh, this place is quite nice, everything looks so expensive and fancy," he jumps up from the bed and walks around the mysterious room.
It's quite chilly in here, I better find some clothes.
Goku leaves the fancy, familiar room, following his nose to the nearest food. As he walks down the hallway with the warm glow of early morning sunshine, he begins to remember: This hallway sure reminds me... the lookout, yeah. Wow, how did I end up on the lookout? He he he... I don't remember, oh well.
"I've gotta find some food, cos I'm starving," he comforts his stomach which growls louder.
"Ah, Goku, you're finally awake," Mr Popo is standing behind him.
"Hey, Mr Popo! Good morning."
"Good morning to you as well, Goku."
"I'm really starving, can I get something to eat?" his stomach growls even louder.
"Ha ha, follow me," Mr Popo leads Goku to the dining room.
Whoa... even for a dining room, this place is fancy. It's super clean, too. No spots, no stains. No dishes in sight!
"Neato!" Goku smiles, "this dining room sure is huge." "Your kitchen is way cleaner than Chichi's you know Mr Popo?" Goku smiles.
The compliment makes Mr Popo blush a little bit. He sets Goku's breakfast on the large, white table.
Goku's appetite whets as the aroma from the meal fills the dining room.
"Yummy! Breakfast! Oh man, I was starving, thought I was gonna keel over cos my tummy was rumbling so hard! He he he," Goku says, stuffing his face, forgetting all his dining table manners.
Mr Popo sweats as he watches the boy eat: He scarfs down on the bread, and the 10-pound fish and the 15-pound meat and... my goodness, his appetite sure is voracious.
Sudden shock causes his beads of sweat to grow larger:
Ah! Is it just me or has his appetite grown more bow that he's a child?
"Where are your manners, Goku?" Dende enters the dining room, "Ha ha. You're making dear Mr Popo uncomfortable."
Goku drinks water, wipes his face before smiling after seeing Dende, "Hey Dende! How's it going?"
"I'm alright," Dende smiles, "although it's you that i'm worried about."
"Huh?" Goku looks surprised to hear that.
"Goku, you've transformed into a child," Dende reveals to him, "had you really not noticed?"
"Huh?!"... "What the... ??! No way! I'm a kid again," Goku freaks out before, "eh, it's not a big deal."
He really doesn't mind... being a child again?
"Don't look so surprised Kami," Mr Popo sighs, "if he reacted any differently, something's wrong."
"Wha?" Dende's confused.
Meanwhile at Chichi's, Pan wakes up and heads to the kitchen, where the dining room is.
"Mmm... something smells great, grandma," she greets Chichi.
"Hey, sweetie," Chichi smiles, "Good morning. Have a seat, I'll bring your breakfast."
"Thanks, grandma. It is a beautiful morning isn't it. I like this place: the birds are chirping, the flying dinosaurs roars and everything about this place is just so beautiful," Pan says.
"Yes, living in the city can be convenient but nothing beats the beautiful mother nature," Chichi agrees.
"Mhm," Pan nods, "What about grandpa?" Pan asks, "I haven't seen him anywhere."
"Oh don't worry, sweetie," Chichi tears up as she cooks their breakfast, "I'm sure he's on his way."
Goku, where could you be? I hope you come home soon.
"Here you go," she sets down her granddaughter's breakfast on the dining table.
Grandma looks kinda sad, but she's trying to hide it.
"Thanks grandma!" Pan cheers to distracts Chichi from worrying about Goku, "all my favorites. You're the best cook, grandma."
"Aww, sweetie," Chichi blushes.
"Emperor Pilaf," Mai knocks on his bedroom door, "please, open the door and let me in."
He ignores her calls.
"It's all that talking rock guy's fault," Shu says, "if he hadn't made that dumb wish, emperor Pilaf would've gotten his wish to become the ruler of the world."
"Yeah," Mai agrees. "Besides, why would anyone want the strongest person to be turned into a child anyway?" she wonders.
"Hm... maybe he's trying to kill them and since he's not that strong, he used that wish to level the field?" Shu suggests.
"That seems reasonable," Mai concurs.
"Emperor Pilaf, please open up," both admonish.
"Is this really all it takes, sir?" Shu says, getting his attention.
"He reacted, I think it's working," Mai whispers to Shu, "keep provoking him."
"uhhh... yeah, you got duped by a talking rock b--" Mai punches his head, causing a giant bump before Shu could make his point.
"You said 'provoke him'" Shu massages his head.
"Yeah, not belittle, dunce!" Mai scolds.
"What's the difference?"
"What's... the difference??" Mai repeats, somehow with an angrier look.
"Eeek!! Shu gasps, apologizi as he runs away from her, although he trips and the gun Mai threw hits his already aching bump, enlarging it.
"That dumb mutt," Mai frowns, "Emperor you can still try again."
"We've still got a chance. You did say that these dragon balls don't lose their powers for a downtime. So, come on. Let's get going already!"
Pilaf's on his bed, staring at the roof while Mai tries to encourage him to try again.
I want to rule over this world.
Meanwhile, back at the lookout Goku's done eating and decides to head back home.
"Bye Dende, bye Mr Popo," he waves goodbye before flying off, "the breakfast was delicious," he laughs.
"That boy..." Mr Popo sighs, "He's his wife's problem now:"
Oh Mrs Goku, you're in for a crazy surprise.
"Mr Popo," Dende says with a serious tone, "I don't think this is a trivial issue. What happened to Goku seems suspicious."
"What do you mean?" Mr Popo asks.
"He was stronger than ever, but now, as a boy..."
