Chapter 2: Goku and Pan's sparring match
After their meal, Uub and Goku walk out of the hyperbolic time chamber.
"Thanks for your training, master Goku."
"He he he, don't mention it Uub... I had a great time!"
As they walk to the lookout's open area, Uub must say goodbye to his trainer.
"I must be leaving now, see you later, master Goku," Uub bows before flying away.
"Bye Uub," Goku waves at him.
"I see your training with Uub has ended, Goku?"
Goku turns around to address the guardian and his assistant.
"Oh, nice to see you again Dende. Yeah, he's gotten so strong now."
"So, what's next Goku?" Mr Popo asks.
"Hmm... lemme see... Ooh, that's right, I'm gonna be late..." Goku panics.
"See you later Kami, Mr Popo. It was great seeing you guys again! Bye!"
Goku flies away, in the direction of his house.
Meanwhile, at Chichi's:
The sun is still up and scorching, and there's only a few hours before it's nighttime. Chichi had been doing the laundry. Pan flew from Gohan's place because today she'd be sparring with Goku, her grandfather.
"Hey grandma, is grandpa here?" Pan greets Chichi as she's hanging the clothes she just finished washing.
"Oh, if it isn't my lovely Pan. How are you doing sweetie? Are you studying hard?"
"Yeah. It's going very well," Pan responds.
"Where is grandpa?"
"He hasn't come home yet sweetie. But you can wait for him inside," Chichi invites her into the house.
"Ok, thanks grandma."
"This is your place too."
Somewhere in the jungle:
It's dark because the sunlight is being blocked by the very tall trees. There're all sorts of reptiles, even dinosaurs as well.
"It's so scary here, emperor. It's dark and the heat is gone," Shu's scared of the eerie jungle.
"We're almost there... we'll finally have the 6th Black Star Ball... ha ha ha!"
"Are you sure we should be searching for these instead of the regular Dragon Balls, emperor Pilaf?" Agent Mai asks.
"Yeah, and this place is so scary, emperor" Shu freaks out.
"Don't worry, after we get this Black Star Ball, all that would be left is the one sealed away at Kami's lookout. I finally be able to wish to become the earth's emperor, all over the world, I'll be called the great Emperor Pilaf!"
"The dragon radar says we just have to go straight ahead. So stop complaining and move your butts! I'm the great Emperor Pilaf!"
"Yes, emperor!" they both salute.
After Agent Mai acquires the Black Star Ball, they all get into the helicopter.
"Now, is it time to go to Kami's lookout, Emperor?" Shu asks.
"No, Shu. If we go there right now, Korin will see us and alert Kami. We'll have to get the 7th Black Star Dragon Ball at night. First, we'll take-off straight up into the sky from 7.000 miles away from the lookout. Then, wait till it's dark. Then when they're all asleep, we sneak onto the lookout and search for the Black Star Ball. That way, we can make our wish when it's already dark!" Pilaf explains.
"That's a great idea, Emperor," Mai says.
"Of course, I am the genius Emperor Pilaf... ha ha ha"
Goku finally arrives at his house, where Pan is hanging out in the living room, watching television.
"Hi Chichi," Goku greets.
"It's grandpa!," Pan runs to hug Goku, who she hasn't seen in the past year.
"Whoa Pan, you've gotten bigger huh? He he he..."
"So, are you done training Uub now?"
"Yep... all done. and he's gotten so much stronger."
As Goku and Pan are talking, Chichi walks into the room with some food.
"Welcome back Goku."
"Hi Chichi."
"Pan, your food's ready," Chichi sets the food on the table.
"Thanks grandma."
"You can sit down Goku, I'll bring you some too."
"Yeah, thanks Chichi."
"Hey grandpa, after we eat, let's spar."
"Ok!" Goku smiles.
When Goku and Pan are done eating, they fly off to a meadow, not so far away from Chichi's.
I'll show grandpa that I'm strong too. Not just Uub.
"Ok grandpa, here I come."
Pan rushes to Goku and tries to land a cross but he ducks then Pan tries a kick with her right leg, he's able to dodge it in time.
He flies back and he's surprised.
"Whoa Pan, you're good. Much better than last time. I see you've been training hard."
Pan smiles.
"Yeah, uncle Piccolo taught me."
"Piccolo is a great teacher. Let's go, Pan."
"Yeah."
Their gaze is fixed on each other's movements.
They clash again (pow, a dust cloud forms but quickly fades away) and Goku's faster than Pan, but she's adapting very well. He manages to land a couple of hits, but she she shakes them off and continues attacking.
Got ya!
She blocks his jab, lands her own on his cheek before kneeing his gut.
He's surprised, but smiles.
You got me Pan. No more holding back then. You can handle it.
Goku's body seems to be cloaked in gold and his curly spiky hair seems to be standing straight up, however he's not in the super saiyan form.
He dashes to Pan, but she leaps up and hovers. He vanishes and appears to her left, hovering as well. He shoots off a blast, but she deflects it.
Ouch. So that's what grandpa can do.
She assumes a stance, prompting Goku to make his move.
They clash, exchanging blows. They appear evenly matched, before Goku starts gaining the upper hand: she's now on the defensive, even though she's not as fast.
Grandpa's good. I can barely keep up.
Pan backflips, but from her hands she fires a blast like a thruster (boom, a small explosion), throwing Goku off-guard... Higher above him now, she fires.
Masenko!!
Goku barely dodges but then Pan gets behind him and kicks his back: he slams to the ground.
On his belly, Goku's formed an outline on the ground.
Wow, so much power. She's mastered the technique to attack with heightened energy in an instant. Impressive, Pan.
"Grandpa, do you want to go again?"
"He he he, you betcha!"
"No flying or hovering this time, 'kay grandpa?"
"Aww, really? Fine." He accedes.
"Ka... me... ha... me..." he charges up for his special attack.
"Masenko!"
"Ha!"
Their blasts clash, and a giant dustcloud covers the area.
As it clears, their clash is still ongoing.
"Dig deeper Pan," he advises her as he increases his power, forcing her blast backward, easily.
"Huff... huff... ok!"
Her blast grows bigger and advances only a little bit.
She's sweating, breathing hard and her arms are shaking.
Goku finally unleashes his super saiyan, no longer holding the form's power back like he did during their brawl.
Pan's blast grows weaker and Goku's blast grows bigger. She's barely hanging on.
I can do it. I'll push baack.
Just when it seemed like her energy was falling,
Should I cancel my attack ...? --
Suddenly, Pan's attack grows much bigger and pushes Goku's back quite far.
Then, she falls onto the ground, exhausted and unconscious.
"Oh no, Pan."
He rushes to her, she's smiling.
"Good job Pan."
Seems like she broke past her limits.
"You're strong Pan, very strong."
"Seems your granddaughter collapsed put of exhaustion... Kakarot."
"Vegeta? Hey, how're you doing?"

Dageeta I have corrected a line in the dialogue between Pilaf and Shu: originally it was 7000 miles but that's not reasonable even for a fitional work, so I instead made it 7.000 since it'd be much funnier if Pilaf were so pedqntic to actually say, "seven point zero zero zero miles" lol. Forgive this blunder.
