They are composed of loose, fractured rock that seem to be ready to collapse at any point in time.

The surface of the crumbling ledges is uneven, with jagged rocks and gravel that might make footing treacherous.

Also...cracks and crevices run along the ledge...some large enough to trip or trap an unwary foot.

From what Zeras could easily analyze...mostly due to the fact that this will be the second time he would be crossing this crumbling ledges and also due to his abnormal level of iq...he would say.
