Chapter 79: Omniscience in Marvel 77

Title - Against the Gods

Energy could never really be created nor destroyed. This was a basic principle anyone with a certain level of cosmic knowledge would come to understand.

The body and soul were, in the end, a form of energy. When one dies, it doesn't really mean the end of one's existence. The energy left behind by the body is converted into energy for the world to grow on.

In the same vein, the energy left behind by the Soul would then move on to a place of higher concentration of Energy… Something akin to the principle of Radiation.

When this happens, beings with a certain domain over the concept of death can intervene, guiding or even manipulating this residual soul energy.

Such beings wield immense power, their influence extending beyond the mortal plane.

Being aware of this profound truth, I sought a deeper connection with the energies of the departed. I knew that to gain such power, I had to venture beyond the boundaries of the universe, into the Superflow, where the essence of existence intertwined with the unknown.

Unlike Gods like Hades, Izanami, Yama, Osiris and more who had been touched by the essence of death in one form or the other, I haven't, and I have no intentions of letting that happen.

However, directly assuming a seat of authority over that concept was very much possible with Lady Death's seal of approval.

This way, I can create an afterlife and guide the souls of those who walk with me into a place of rest. 'Rest can be good or bad though. Peaceful or…chaotic.' I thought with a shrug.

Normal POV

"How's it going with Moses and the Pharaoh?" Leucadius asked out loud to no one in particular, but as usual, Aspect's voice rang out in reply.

"The Human mind Is so feeble that I feel bad for the Pharaoh."

"Oh? Did he perhaps think that since Moses could do a few miracles similar to his sorcerers, that I am not as powerful as Moses makes me out to be?" Leucadius asked with an amused expression.

"Exactly." Aspect replied, not really surprised that Leucadius could come to that conclusion on his own. "It's about time you began your part."

"Hmm." Leucadius hummed with a nod as the screen zoomed in on the Nile river.

Similar to how Heaven was linked to the now named Bethel and The mount Olympus, the Nile River was the location where the Heliopolis intersected with the Earth.

This was why any and all forms of the current Egyptian culture, miracles, traditions and all what not we're associated with the Nile River. It was basically a river dripping with Divine Energy.

"Then for their first punishment…Have Moses dip his staff into the Nile River…I'll show Pharaoh, the impotence of their Gods." Leucadius said and smiled before closing his eyes.

As he did so, his consciousness was projected into the Astral plane where he made his way into the Heliopolis, and as soon as he did, his presence was picked up…Nah, he wasn't hiding his Presence in the first place.

"God of Heaven! To what do we owe this…unexpected and rude visit." A loud and kingly voice rang out throughout the dimension as several bursts of Divine Energy shot out from various areas of the dimension.

Leucadius stood imposingly with his hands clasped behind his back as he watched them all make their way towards him. Time passed and soon, there were no other Gods making their way towards him.

He glanced at each and every one of them and sported some familiar faces to which he smiled. "You all…have committed a…grave sin." He began slowly, his voice however, deep, as though an elder talking down on mere children.

"Oh no…" Isis who was positioned beside her husband in the sky muttered as her eyes glazed over for an instant, her expression morphed from one of worry to one of terror.

"What's the matter…?" Osiris asked seeing her terrified expression.

"It's…the end." Isis said slowly.

"Huh..? What do you mean 'the end?"

"The Ennead…The end of the Ennead…" she said as tears began to pour down her cheeks. "I only got a glimpse of the future, I don't know what will bring about that scene I saw, but whatever it was…the ending was…Horror."

"Th-then, shouldn't we do something?" Osiris asked in worry. He didn't care much about her disregard for their Pantheon's might. He knew his wife had a gift for magic, and with her studying under Oshtur, what merit was there in doubting her?

"We can only hope our child acts wisely." Isis said and wiped away her tears as he looked to the front where Leucadius stood indifferently in air while looking down on the gathered ground of Gods.

The very fact that he exuded that much power despite not actually being here was already a testament to his prowess.

"A grave sin? Do you know the interpretation of that statement, God of Heaven?" Horus asked as he brandished his golden staff.

"Interpretation..? I don't speak in riddles, little Godling. My words have no other interpretations other than how it was spoken." Leucadius squinted his eyes at Horus while exerting a greater mental pressure on him which caused him to buckle slightly. "Watch your tone when talking to me."

"Now-" Leucadius was about to continue when a beam of light shot straight at him from Horus' eyes. With a snort, the beam of light was extinguished before it even made it halfway towards him.

"God of Heaven, No…Yahweh…that's what your people call you isn't it? I will have you know that this is the Heliopolis. Home world of the Ennead. You have no right whatsoever throttling in here while acting and speaking like you own the place." Horus said imposingly as the aura on his rose to match that of Leucadius.

"Oh?" Was all Leucadius asked.

"Exactly. Coming in here was a mistake you'd regret for the rest of your Life…Oh, but I guess that's about to be cut short." another God said causing Leucadius to turn to him.

"You…" Leucadius muttered as he looked at the God deeply. "Who are you?" Then turning to Horus, he smiled and said. "I knew you all loved to take the appearance of animals, but I didn't know you kept a dog as a fellow dog…ah, I meant God."

"You!" The God, Anubis, shrieked in anger as his aura also spiked. From the staff in his hand, an black orb of energy gathered with which he shot at Leucadius.

In the same manner as the beam of light, Leucadius erased it before it could make it halfway towards him. "Let's not waste out Energies trying to do things that are impossible." Leucadius said and snapped his finger. The sound from the snap sent a ripple through the dimension causing the very energy within the dimension to destabilise.

That very action caused all the Gods flying with the aid of their Divine energy to go stumbling to the ground. The rest who had Wings managed to regain their aerial mobility before they could embarrass themselves. An example was Horus, Osiris, Isis and Thoth.

Where Horus had Wings of an eagle, Osiris and Isis and Powers beyond just divine energy. Thoth, surprisingly manipulated the gravity around himself to keep himself suspended.

Leucadius glanced at the only likable god of Egypt and smiled. "Now. I didn't come here for a face off. You all aren't qualified enough for that." He began. "However, since you've decided on your own, to mess with those I deem to be mine, don't you think a punishment is in order? Thoth..?"

"Ah?" Thoth who was just called out couldn't help letting out a surprised gasp. "What?"

"Your Gods. They messed with what's mine. Do you remember the rule I gave concerning territories?" Leucadius asked and Thoth nodded.

"Messing around in another pantheon's territory could be seen as an affront to the pantheon's authority." Thoth replied.

"Exactly. And what did I say following that? About my people and people who deem themselves to be mine?" Leucadius asked again.

"Any form of harm brought on them would be paid back in full depending on your mood." Thoth replied but then added. "However, no harm has been done to the Hebrews working in Egypt."

"Working..? And…no…Harm?" Leucadius who had been smiling at the God frowned as his indifferent look turned to a glare. "Are you really ignorant or are you pretending to be?"

"What do you mean?" Thoth asked with an equally confused frown. "I was the one that personally advised the Pharaoh to employ the aid of the Hebrews. They seemed like capable workers considering their genealogy."

Leucadius maintained his glare on the dark skinned God for a long while that seemed like years to Thoth. "I see." Leucadius said and sighed. From Thoth's expression and emotions, he could tell he wasn't lying so he found no reason to continue pressuring him. "Contrary to your advise, my children have been placed under slavery for a few decades now."

"What!?"

"Hmm. A few years ago, the previous Pharaoh even order the death of every male child born to my people." Leucadius continued.

"Wha-? Impossible! Why!?"

"No idea. Fear…perhaps? I won't put it above you lot. When there's no centralised power, ideas and ambitions are prone to grow." Leucadius said and glanced at the other Gods.

"We're all immortal existences so I won't be too Harsh on you." Leucadius intoned as he let out the full might of his Mental pressure. "However, considering that you've sin and broken A Law that I personally set…A punishment is in order."

"Don't you agree?" He asked Thoth who was still trying to understand how and why someone would think going against a Godking like Leucadius would end up with rainbows and sunshine. "I asked a question."

"Huh? Yes, a punishment is truly in order. However, not all the Ennead are involved in this." Thoth replied and tried to reason with Leucadius but Leucadius waved him off.

"Who do you think I am? Some killer God? Please… I am a God, slow to anger, abounding in Mercy but…my anger…well…it's a consuming fire." Leucadius declared, and as he did so, the entirety of Heliopolis began to tremble.

"From this moment on, each and every God and Goddess with a connection to Earth will have that connection severed. I will personally see to that."

"As a punishment for allowing the Egyptians make fun of my people while cajoling me as non-existent, I will show the Egyptians your impotence in mine and my people's presence."

"Later generation of humans will look back on the series of events that led to this and know that I the God of Heaven, Lord and King of the Israelites is not to be messed with."

"I do know however, that Gods are prone to arrogance, self deceit and unnecessary self confidence. Events like this will happen ever so often, but I won't be interfering. Humans as a whole need to understand that divine protection isn't all that."

"And for the next Millennia…till my Son walks the Earth, you are forbidden from stepping into the Earth."

With each and every word Leucadius made, the pressure he exuded increased causing the Gods and inhabitants of Heliopolis to shudder under his might.

"That will be all." As soon as he said that, he disappeared.

He didn't need to further threaten them or even tell them the consequences of disobedience. Failure to comply will be met with a swift and immediate response from Heaven without prejudice.

And so it happened that on this very day, as a sign to show the impotence of the Egyptian Gods, God, in the person of Aspect asked Moses to dip his staff into the Nile River in the presence of Pharaoh and his escorts.

From the tip of his staff, the pristinely clear and near-divine river turned to blood.

This plague symbolizes the lifeblood of Egypt being corrupted and the impotence of the Egyptian gods. The Nile, a vital resource to the Egyptians, was effectively rendered undrinkable and deadly, showcasing the supremacy of the Hebrew God over Egyptian deities.

A/N: How's that? Interesting right? As I always say, don't go judging me. You've all read or watched Highschool Dxd at one point in time. Don't be thinking I'm disrespecting God here.

If someone could write about God being Dead and y'all enjoyed it, I don't see a reason to be judgemental towards this one.
