Seeing the Ice Elves they started to panic.
"I-Ice Elves!"
"And what's with those numbers?! There must be over twenty!"
Then the leader of the Ice Elves spoke but it was in a language only I and Jin-woo could understand.
"So there really were some useful people among these trash."
"What? Did you just call us trash?"
"It seems like he did."
Our response surprised the lead Ice Elf causing him to ask.
"You know our language?"
Looking over I saw a look of surprise on Jin-woo most likely didn't expect this.
"You can speak to monsters as well?" Heejin asked.
"To be able to converse… how splendid. There's someone I wanted to introduce."
The Ice Elf boss pointed to his left to his left to a very familiar face it was the Ice Elf that attacked Song-Yi when we first entered the red gate.
"You're already acquaintances. He's the one who notified us that there were some strong people among the humans. This guy wanted to face off against you so…"
Before the boss could finish his statement the elf who he was pointing to had his top half blown off from his body. The leader looked behind him to see what had killed the Ice Elf and he saw that it was a gold broad sword that faded into golden particules. He turned back to look at me and Jin-woo and saw a golden ripple floating to my left.
"Is that all?" I asked.
The boss was quiet for a little while then he grinned while saying.
"You're an amusing guy."
Jin-woo attacked the boss knocking him back while I turned my attention to the other Ice Elves however my higher sense of hearing caught the conversation between Jin-woo and the Ice Elf boss.
"I have a proposal. It won't be detrimental to you. But first, let me ask you a question."
Glancing over to Jin-woo and the Ice Elf boss I saw him get off the horse while Jin-woo was still in an attack stance.
"Despite not being human why are you among humans?"
… oh right Jin-woo can't hide Ashborne's energy to be fair it's not like knows that.
"What are you talking about?"
"Haha, are you not aware of it?" The Ice Elf boss said laughing.
Then he pointed to the side of his head saying.
"In our heads, there is a constant voice speaking to us. To kill humans. But I cannot hear the voice in your presence."
That must likely have something to do with the being responsible for Jin-woo gaining Ashborne's powers.
"There's no need for us to fight. We do not want unnecessary casualties on our end. Hand over the humans behind you. Then I'll spare your life. How about it?"
"Let me ask you a question as well. Who are you guys? Where did you come from and why are you trying to kill humans?"
"We are…"
The boss didn't get to finish whatever he was going to say but his body seemingly glitched and then he stated his proposal.
… someone is blocking information.
"How about it? Do you accept our proposal?"
"I refuse."
"Do you plan on fighting me and my soldiers? Do you think you can withstand our numbers by yourself?"
'Uriel, do you want to stretch your legs?'
'If you allow me master.'
'Then come out.'
"Numbers? What numbers?" Jin-woo said as his shadow soldiers started rising from his shadow.
"To be fair he wasn't alone anyway," I said as a large crack appeared in the dimension behind me.
From the darkness of the crack were glowing gold eyes stepping from the crack was Uriel in her true form with the Frostreaper in her hand.
"What a cheap trick."
"Is it a cheap trick?"
"Really now very well then, Go Uriel and leave some for brother."
And with that, the fight began Uriel vanished in a burst of speed appearing in the center of the army of the Ice Elves and swinging the Frostreaper in an arc while activating Rotting Tundra destroying half of the army and freezing the area behind them while Jin-woo's shadow soldiers fought the rest of the army. Chuckling at the destruction caused by Uriel and the look on both Jin-woo and the Ice Elf boss's faces.
I should have told her to hold back more hehe.
Sensing the other hunters trying to get out of the way of the fight that was going on I decided to help them. Patting Jin-woo on his shoulder I said.
"You can kill the boss, Uriel overdid it."
"Uriel to me!"
Hearing my command Uriel flew over to me and kneeled.
"Master."
"Follow."
Vanishing in a burst of speed with Uriel not too far behind. Appearing in front of the hunters then I waved my hand, and a translucent barrier formed around them, shielding them from the battle that raged nearby.
The hunters, initially frozen in fear, began to regain their composure within the safety of the barrier. Some looked at me with awe, while others whispered among themselves, likely trying to make sense of the extraordinary events unfolding before them.
Hmm, why do I feel like I'm forgetting someone oh well matters not.
Hopping onto the barrier I took a seat on it Uriel appeared next to me standing and watching the fight between Jin-woo and the Ice Elf boss.
"So Uriel."
"Master from what you have felt so far what are your thoughts on brother so far."
"He has potential master."
"Well, he should he is gaining my the powers original's strongest creation."
Returning my attention to the fight that was happening. Jin-woo rushed at the boss jumped at him and swung down the boss simply stepped back from the attack and then stepped on the dagger. The blade of the dagger vanished then Jin-woo swung upwards at the boss with the dagger the blade reformed the boss blocked the attack with relative ease. Jin-woo swung his second dagger at the boss which was also blocked as well then the boss kneed Jin-woo in his side sending him flying.
Damn, that must have hurt.
Jin-woo regained his balance in the air and landed on his feet.
"It's been a while since I had this much excitement." the boss said.
The sky lit up orange looking up there was a large fireball coming down onto the boss and before the boss could move it landed on him causing an explosion."
"Thanks to the magician, I gained some time. Now…"
Something came up in my sensory range.
"Hmm."
Looking over to where Kim Chul was knocked out I saw him getting up and picking up the sword that he was planning to attack the party with.
"Oh, I see what he's planning."
Jin-woo started at the roaring flames that came from the fireball.
"There's no way he died from that… stop wasting time and come out."
Rushing out of the flames at Jin-woo the boss shouted.
"In this the limit of your soldiers!?"
Then also Kim Chul rushed at Jin-woo from behind.
"Die! Sung Jin-woo!!"
"It seems that I'm not the only one after your head."
"Kim Chul just as I Predicted. Igris."
Igris appeared behind Jin-woo and stabbed Kim Chul in the chest
"Sung Jin-woo you basta… since the beginning, you predicted this. Damn it…"
"How interesting! But nothing will change!"
"ARISE"
And let the show begin.
