Chapter 139: Lily - Her fears

Lily did not leave after Ms. Juliet left and went inside the manor.

She was discomfit and restless. How come no one has heard from both Elias and Aurora, not even Theo.

Her conversation with them during the day was short and fruitless as their mind was preoccupied with the task they had at hand.

She was still standing in the shadows when the door to the manor opened again and Emily escorted Melanie out.

Shocked, she rushed forward and blocked their path. The look of horror on her face at the gravity of the injury on Melanie's face was palpable.

Emily looked up and sighed in relief when she saw she was the one.

"What happened to Melanie? Who did this to her in the Alpha's house?" She knew none of the maid would ever lift a finger to touch her as they all treated her like a queen because the Alpha dotes on her.

Emily sighed as she looked at Melanie. "I'm sorry, Ms. I have to take her for immediate treatment as she can't heal by herself."
