VALENCIA'S POV
"You can leave now. Don't worry about me. I will call you if something happens," I told Happy once he dropped me in the caves.
The bird looked at me with an unsure expression.
I know he didn't want to leave my side when he could see how much pain I was in and with my twisted ankle.
I smiled at the bird assuringly, and it moved the tip. of its wings to write something on the soil.
"I will be near," the message said.
I smiled gratefully before nodding, the smile faltering when I saw him leaving.
I couldn't pretend to be okay anymore. It was becoming hard.
The pain, rather than subsiding, was only increasing, and it was making me want to drown in something or just cut myself to ease it.
It was just about arousal. It was literally burning me from the inside.
As I contemplated what to do next, I heard a thick growl laced with anger and urgency, and my heart skipped a beat, knowing who it was.
