Chapter 98 - A Brewing Storm

Grayfia Lucifuge. She was once a proud maid that served the current Satan Lucifer as her duty as Lucifuge demanded of her from birth. However, that had changed since that fateful day. Now she served another master.

Her opinion of her new master is a mix bag. Unlike Sakuya, the one true servant of her master, she and the three Fallen Angels were merely external members of this group. The most obvious sign was that they are always kept at arm's length from anything related to their master except Sakuya.

For Grayfia, this treatment is very tormenting for her. Because unlike the three Fallen Angels who seem to begrudgingly serve him out of fear, she does not. At least now she doesn't even if she did at first.

She knows of her master's identity. He didn't seem to care that she knew about it but he kept it a secret from the outsider. She rejoiced at the fact she is allowed to keep this knowledge. It's a sign that she is being accepted even if small.

At first, she feared him for obvious reasons. Her mind had been torn apart, cut open, picked apart and put back together. Her mind was utterly broken and put back together by him. Anyone in the right mind would feel fear at that point and she does.

So, what changed her mind?

Well, she saw how he treated those he cared for. From his daughters to his wives to his servant, Sakuya.

Those who he accepted to his own circle are given one gift. A gift that if others were to know, regardless they are humans or gods, they would fight tooth and nail to get even a small fraction of it, his Divine Essence, his power. Even the smallest fraction of it can drive anyone crazy to covet it.

In the world of Deus X Dragon, power is everything. Especially so in the society of the Devil. It's not an exaggeration to say, they worship power. Especially the older experienced Devils who experienced the Great War. They see the truth of the world.

So, imagine Grayfia's reaction to Ray. He whose strength is boundless and beyond her miniscule imagination. Not just that, he can also bestow his power to those he considered his followers. She is hardwired to instinctively worship him because of his strength both as a Devil.

But even so, it wasn't to the point she is willing to abandon her family yet. It was that one instance. The instance where he got bored and suddenly decided to revive the entire roster of the Great War and have fun with a battle royale game. As expectedly, the Heavenly Dragons both won in a stalemate after they slaughtered the entire Biblical Pantheon. But that's not the point. The point is he is strong enough to warp reality as he wishes and revive a god. Not just any god but the Biblical God who is known to be a very powerful god that perhaps only below Shiva in his prime.

That isn't the worst he has done yet either because not even the Great Red or Ouroboros is spared from his boredom. You get the point. She finally has a visual representation of his power and what he is capable of. Also, from what she heard from Sakuya. His mortal vessel only holds a mere 1% of his true strength whilst being capable of all these feats.

To say she admires him for his strength is an understatement. She worships him like an angel would the Biblical God. She would do anything he said without hesitation even if her death is guaranteed because he could simply revive her with a single thought.

To warm his bed? It is basically her wildest wet dream.

So, to have him suddenly summoned her out of nowhere when she was just doing her daily chores and in his child form at that, she is fighting her inner demon to resist not to eat him. Figuratively.

Even as his deadly charm degrades all her semblance of rationality. She paid it no mind and smiled sweetly, sweetest she had ever shown in her life while her heart shaped eyes locked on his cute and adorable face that stroked upon her maternal instinct more than her biological son, Milicas did. Yet also stroking the flame of lust that her husband, Sirzech, could never dream of achieving.

She had no doubt she was bewitched. But even so, she had no slight intention of resisting it.

She smiled constantly as she watched her master clumsily nibbling on a piece of pastry she just bought for him from a bakery they passed by.

"Master, there is some jam on your face." She said and took out a handkerchief before helping him wipe his cheek.

He lowered the bun and let her wipe her jam stained cheek before offering him some water she pulled out of nowhere which he drank, equally as clumsy as she ate. On purpose for sure. She happily played her role and sighed because he wet his clothes and he 'could' get 'sick' if left unattended.

"Let's change your clothes first, Master. We wouldn't want you to catch a cold, right?" She cooed.

"Alright." Her master replied with an innocent and oblivious expression. Of course, it was just an act too because he could quite literally read minds and see the future to be unaware of what is happening.

However, when she brought him to a nearby public toilet at a mall…

"Halt! Unhand that child immediately, Grayfia Lucifuge!" An intense wave of Holy Power surprised her enough for her mind to briefly stave off the Charm and identify the culprit.

"Gabriel… What are you doing here? In a Devil controlled territory without much of a… proper escort?" She glanced briefly at Uriel whose face is hidden under his cloak but the Holy Power he unconsciously radiates is enough of an indication he is a powerhouse.

"I should say the same to you! What are you doing, beguiling a child and bringing him into the r-restroom with y-you?!" She demanded an answer from Grayfia with her righteous fury.

Grayfia noticed her mind sobered up immediately as the Charm lost its effect and her master was continuing his charade as an innocent child. She immediately understood her role and the stage he prepared for her. To ease his boredom, without a doubt as that is the common recurring theme for any insanity that happened in his vicinity.

"So what? I am simply helping my Master change his drenched clothes." Grayfia presented her reason. But of course, Gabriel wouldn't accept such a 'flimsy' excuse.

"You could just dry his clothes with magic. Why do you need to change his clothes?" Gabriel argued and pointed her finger at Grayfia.

"Why do you care?" Grayfia snapped back at Gabriel, demanding why she was overstepping her boundary. "What? Because I am a Devil?"

"Yes." Gabriel replied in the heat of the moment before processing the meaning of the word in the context of their argument.

"Well, sorry to tell you this. But he is my master that I am serving wholeheartedly." Grayfia declared which confused the two Angels.

"Aren't you the Queen of Satan Lucifer? Why are you serving another person?" Gabriel is genuinely confused because the matter about Grayfia is a stain in Sirzech's name and never publicized.

"Well, not anymore. I had found a more worthy Master and swore my devotion to him. So, please leave us alone if you don't have any other business." Grayfia replied curtly before excusing her and Ray, leaving immediately which left Gabriel with her mouth open and closing, not knowing what to reply while she is digesting the information she just obtained.

Firstly, whether it's true or not, the boy who she suspected to be related to her Father is now associated with a Devil, a notorious one too, the spawn of a Lucifuge too, a descendant associated with the traitorous Lucifer.

But Gabriel is convinced that the boy is beguiled by Grayfia and her action is a conspiracy from the Devil because she cannot believe that Grayfia would switch sides that easily.

With a new found determination, Gabriel turns around and looks at Uriel who is silently waiting for her next action.

"Let's return to Heaven for now. We must inform my brother of this. The Devil is trying to trick and deceive the reincarnation of Father."

Uriel had a deadpanned look and was aware of Gabriel's obsession with their Father. He didn't think the boy is the reincarnation or successor of their Father without more concrete proof than mere random reaction from the already faulty Heaven's System without their Father's hands maintaining it. However, he still agreed because Gabriel would finally agree to return on her own will.

After all, when it comes to strength. Gabriel is second to none, especially when it comes to their Father.
