Chapter 101 The Noble Play of Coercing Nobility into Prostitution

From a distance, Arthas could already see the two individuals surrounded, along with the need to deal with these noble soldiers. Otherwise, when facing the Naga in battle, if these people were to break at the slightest touch and lead the way in fleeing, the impact on morale would be extremely fatal.

It could affect his status, damage his reputation, and result in receiving fewer resources.

Some things have a domino effect and are not as simple as they seem.

'Edwin Van Cleef'

'Vanessa VanCleef'

These names were all too familiar. When it comes to great injustice, Edwin truly embodied it.

He was a renowned mason in the Kingdom of Stormwind, also known as an architect.

However, being renowned was just a title; to the noble class, commoners were merely expendable.

In the storyline, after the orcs were repelled back to Draenor, the Kingdom of Stormwind was rebuilt.

Led by Edwin, the Masons' Guild undertook the majority of the reconstruction work in Stormwind, working day and night to rebuild the city.

Upon completion of the reconstruction, guild members gathered to demand payment from the nobles. However, under the influence of the corrupt Countess Katrana Prestor, who was actually the Black Dragon Princess Onyxia in disguise, the greedy Stormwind nobles refused to pay any fees.

After being denied their wages by Stormwind, Edwin Van Cleef and his followers incited a riot in the city to demand their dues. Unaware of the situation, King Varian Wrynn and his wife Tiffin attempted to calm the angry craftsmen. In the chaos, Tiffin tragically lost her life when struck by a stone, leading the grief-stricken Varian to exile all members of the Stonemasons Guild.

Driven out of Stormwind, the guild members had no choice but to seek refuge in the desolate Westfall region. Edwin witnessed his brothers languishing in hunger and despair, eventually deciding to lead them in seeking revenge against the decaying nobles of Stormwind. Fueled by anger, the craftsmen wreaked havoc among the common folk of Westfall, rallying pirates, thieves, and former guild members to form the Defias Brotherhood.

This Brotherhood continued to disrupt Stormwind and its territories, leading to the abandonment of Moonbrook.

To safeguard Elwynn Forest, Stormwind built the Westfall Fortress to repel the Brotherhood's incursions.

Simultaneously, Edwin Van Cleef established a stronghold in the Deadmines and secretly constructed warships. His plan was to create a fleet and use powerful cannons to destroy the very Stormwind he had helped rebuild, along with the nobles and incoming soldiers, in a fiery demise.

This demonstrated that Edwin was not only a skilled stonemason but also a master spy and military genius.

However, his ambitions were thwarted by the greedy adventurers hired by the nobles, leading to his own beheading as a trophy.

Vanessa was left alone, wandering to survive and vowing to continue seeking vengeance against Stormwind once she grew up.

From a divine perspective, the rebellion incited by a peasant worker's maliciously withheld wages from the royal family undeniably portrayed Edwin as a victim of great injustice.

Despite his talents, he was ultimately a talented individual pushed to a corner.

When in opposition, no one cares about the contributions made by the other party; it's all about eliminating the opponent!

Arthas found the story deeply resonant while playing the game.

Among the common folk, there are indeed hidden talents, but they are challenging to find.

Now that he had the opportunity to find one, how could he stand by and watch them fall into enemy hands?

As Arthas approached, Edwin and Vanessa were already surrounded. Faced with organized soldiers, even professional thieves would find it challenging to escape!

"It's His Royal Highness Prince!" someone exclaimed, and everyone made way for him.

"Your Highness, your timing is impeccable. I have captured two spies sent by the Tribe to gather intelligence, and I will ensure to extract all information from them," Roton said with a fawning smile, bowing slightly to show respect.

"How do you know they are spies?" Arthas' lips curled into a cold smile, seemingly mocking.

Unable to discern Arthas' thoughts, Roton elaborated on the recent events, embellishing the story.

He claimed Vanessa had seduced him, which Arthas dismissed with disdain. Through conversation, he discovered the unusual nature of the father and daughter, eventually forcing them to reveal their true identities!

"You're talking nonsense! You clearly just wanted to take me back to play with me, disgusting!" Vanessa exploded in anger. How could a delicate young lady like her tolerate being slandered!

"You'll find out soon enough!" Roton smirked, then turned to Arthas, nodding respectfully. "Your Highness, leave it to me to handle. You rest for a bit, I'll inform you once I have results."

Arthas gazed outside and asked the loyal captain of the guards beside him, "Has Baron Kormac arrived?"

"He's here, waiting outside," the captain replied respectfully.

"Let him in," Arthas ordered expressionlessly.

Before long, a fat noble baron was ushered in, sweating profusely from the short walk, indicating his poor physical condition likely due to excessive indulgence in women.

"Greetings, Your Highness. Good day, Your Highness," Baron Kormac bowed respectfully to Arthas, acknowledging him as the future heir to the throne!

Indeed, while the king cannot interfere in the affairs of lords' territories, he can make your life uncomfortable, squeezing your taxes, demanding this and that. If you refuse, it's seen as disregarding the bigger picture, and there are many ways to outmaneuver them.

Don't underestimate the king certain things are off-limits unless the other party goes too far, then you can eliminate insubordinate nobles under the guise of righteousness.

"Did these two father and daughter visit your estate to work as stonemasons earlier?" Arthas asked calmly.

"Uncle, it was me!" Roton quickly winked at Baron Kormac, subtly implying that he was lying right in front of them. Is this hinting or treating someone like a fool?

Baron Kormac was clueless about the situation but still considered his nephew, shaking his head and saying, "I don't know, I don't recognize them, I haven't seen them before."

"You're lying. Isn't this a coin minted by you?" Vanessa angrily threw a silver coin, pinning her hopes on this human prince, hoping that this Lordaeron prince would not ignore this matter.

Despite most nobles being corrupt, there are still a few good ones among them.

She could only hope that she had encountered a good person, not a bad one.
