Chapter 49: An unwanted truth

"Little Miss Rose, you see your father married your mother because of her magic," the wind spirit started.

"I know," I replied without realizing. She smiled and continued,

"Well, you and your sister were born. Your sister had little magic… no, she had really high magic with great potential, but your father wasn't satisfied, and you, on the other hand, had just the ability your father wanted. He couldn't get it in Raphy or your sister, but he got it in you," she said, sighing as she turned back to the door. Did I hear correctly? Raphy?

"I'm telling her, Dan," she said to someone whom I assumed was the grand duke.

"We made an agreement," I heard his voice.

"And it's too late because the seal is broken," she replied. "Don't come here if you don't want to get involved in what's about to happen," she dismissed him and walked back in.
